If its just about physical tools and basketball skill, I'd take Cousins, mostly for his shot blocking ability.
But the character issue is too big to ignore, especially with Cousin's terrible body language on the court. So it's close, and probably easier to decide for people closer to the players. |

Im thankful LG isnt the GM of the Lakers |
Eddie Jones is one of the top SGs in the league, Kobe hasn't even played an NBA game yet! |
I get what you are trying to do here, it just doesn't equate to his statement at this point of time. |

The real question is, DeMarcus Cousins or Okafor + max contract player (Goran Dragic, Danny Green, LaMarcus Aldridge, etc).
Because attaining Cousins means we lose our draft pick PLUS we lose our capspace. It's a double whammy! |
when you put it that way, what good reason is there to get cousins?
If he was a high character/hard working guy it might be worth it, with a 6th pick. But as it is, too much risk at too high a cost. |

Cousins in a heartbeat. He's one of the best centers in the league right now, if not the best already. Bear in mind of the possibility of Okafor turning out to be a bust or just being a solid role player in the NBA. Give me the sure thing any day. |

when you are rebuilding and you do not have a great coach, the worst thing you can do is bring in a huge talent with a bad attitude like cousins imo.. on top of that it isn't only okafor vs. cousins, you will be losing a ton of cap space that okafor would be on during his entire rookie contract...
okafor seems to have a gasol like attitude to him where he has the potential to be an extremely good #2 on a contending team or even be the #1 option in stretches but he will be a great teammate and not cause many problems. Then with the cap space we can go after the westbrooks and durants of the nba knowing there probably/hopefully wont be any clashing going on.
i just personally believe the lakers came out of the last few awful years EXTREMELY lucky to have a very promising future and would rather ride that out and take my chances in free agency on top of all this young cheap talent we currently have. |

quick. we need another poll about creating redundant polls. |
If you're referring to the poll I started there's a difference. I'm asking would you trade the #2 pick to Sacramento for Cousins. That pick could be Okafor or Towns.
This poll is asking to make a choice between Okafor and Cousins. Huge difference. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
