Good work with the bros @EkpeUdoh @DWRIGHTWAY1 @TwoShotOne at SC today...lost about 10 lbs in that sauna lol #BigGuardU
I thought we were going to draft RJ Hunter at 27 since we really need a backup 2-guard. When we selected Nance, I was like, WHAT, we already have a PF in Julius and I thought we were going to acquire another one!
Then we drafted Brown in the second and I'm happy with that pick too. Even if he becomes an Anthony Morrow, I'm good with that.
If he can be Wesley Johnson with a jumpshot and brains, I'd be ecstatic. And maybe throw in one dribble drive move to get the basket. I remember Wesley's first pre season game there was 6 seconds on the clock he goes one on one an moves left and right, then left the right and gets nowhere not even an inch closer to the rim, that's when I said, this guy sucks, no wonder he's a bust.
Great to hear that Brown is embracing his role as a 3 and D guy. He knows what he's good at and is going to embrace the role of defending the toughest wing and spacing the floor. I was surprised to read that he averaged almost 7 rpg last year at Stanford.
Everyone has been rightfully caught up in the Russell hype. Many of us are intrigued with Nance due to his elite athleticism. Of course, many of are hoping that Upshaw can right his ship with us due to his lottery level talent. However, I think most of us are sleeping on Brown because he is the least sexy of all our young guns. He has the perfect mentality for a role player in terms of focusing on his strengths and not trying to do anything he isn't good at. He understands his place in the pecking order. I look forward to seeing him complement the rest of our team with his shooting ability and defense.
Brown, the 34th overall pick in June's NBA draft, was given a strong commitment from the Lakers with a three-year deal. His first season will be for a fully guaranteed $700,000 -- above the rookie minimum of $525,093.
The Stanford senior is also fully guaranteed next season at a minimum salary of $874,636. If he's not waived before Aug. 1, 2017, Brown's third year will lock in at a $1.0 million minimum.

I'm not 100% sure if it was Brown or Byuchs but someone was beat on the PnR instead of blowing by that and someone had a 3pt. On the next play There was a pass on the low post but could have easily kicked out for a 3pt since Brown collapsed on the post instead of watching his man. Again I'm not close to an expert but thought those were concerns but I like

Neither were Brown's fault. In the first, Randle should have been there to cover for Upshaw, who's too slow to be up like that in the first place. In the second, the double is likely what the coaches were telling them to do. Brown did appear to blow coverage on a shooter in the second half though.

Told him that Stanford education would pay off for him.
I liked what I saw last night, he could be another second round bargain. Though I think the fact that Clarkson got the 2 year contract while Brown got the 3 year contract tells me that the Lakers were more sure of Clarkson than Brown. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
