PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Larry Bird
PF: Kevin Love
C: Dirk Nowitzki

I think this is hypothetically the best 3 pt. shooting team using the 5 traditional positions

lol one of those players is not like the others

I'd probably go with Maravich at SG (yeah i know the 3 point line was only in for his last season but that's a guy who i think would have been truly legendary if he could have been rewarded with an extra point), Dirk's a PF. I'm not really sure who i'd go with at center, maybe Sabonis

Kobe is a great 3 pt shooter he has the record for most 3's in one game remember? and I was thinking Sabonis too but I put Dirk at center because he's a 7 footer so he can play center too but he is also one of the if not the best shooting big man of all time

Actually on second thought, i think i'll go with Drazen at SG, that guy might have actually been a better shooter than Curry (although Korver the last few years has been like the greek god of threes).

So yeah I'm going

PG: Curry
SG : Petrovic
SF : Bird
PF : Dirk
C : Sabonis

In that case, drop Larry Bird from your team in exchange for for Donyell Marshall -- he and Kobe share the record for most 3s in one game.

Larry Bird is only a career 38% 3 point shooter, I don't get why he's making so many of these lists. For instance, a guy like Danny Green who shoots 42% from 3 for his career should be on the list over him imo.

Also, Kobe does not belong in any of these line-ups. Period.

Doesn't Nash have a better shooting % than Curry?

The best shooting team ? To me it's the collection of guys whom together represent the best possible chance of making a bucket.

Jerry West
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
Tim Duncan
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Finishers and shot-makers and clutch shooters of the highest order. I would be impartial as to who would take the last shot for all the marbles. These guys would trust each other to the nTH degree. That's the definition.

I haven't compared the two, but you have to take into account Curry's sheer volume and variety of 3P's. If it's close, the advantage has to go to Curry

Perkins is a good choice. If we are going to talk about genuine centers who were the best 3-point shooters rather than combo center-forwards, I'd go with Sabonis, Jack Sikma and Bill Lambier.

For guys like Bird, their percentages in the early years are usually pretty awful because it was a relatively new thing and they rarely if ever took the shot unless it was like end of shot clock/quarter nor practiced it. Then it became a bit more integrated and the percentages were more reflective.
