Not too much for Pierce' contract (3/$10.5M). Also, Clippers may trade DJ out. _________________ "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." --Sarah Cook.

Pretty much says it all eh?
Agreed, not only that but Lin won't like to come back for sure. _________________ "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." --Sarah Cook.
The next order of business for the Bulls is to add a veteran guard. A source indicated they are very interested in Rodney Stuckey and Jeremy Lin because of their ability to play either guard spot. Gary Neal and J.J. Barea are also possibilities.

Lin is a good fit for bulls, but i am afraid Bulls can not afford him, or Lin takes a pay cut like ED did with Lakers, and shoot for the FA next year or the year after
Why doesn't Lin just go play ball in China? Dude would be worshipped over there...
1) Because he is an American that can make more money in the USA.
2) I don't how worshipped an American of Taiwanese decent would be.
They get bank over there...
His Taiwanese background has nothing to do with it. They just worship former NBA players. Look at Starbury, Will Bynum, Smush Parker... they wreck it out there and fill the stadiums.
If he stays here he's just going to get a minimal contract, limited playing time, fans of whatever team he goes to will eventually treat him like trash wherever he goes until he's finally out of the league.

Chinese team will pay bank to have J.Lin on their team... That is a marketing bonanza (along with that J.Lin can actually play)

Pride of playing in the best league in the world. Rising above personal challenges is more satisfying than taking the easy way out. He's always believed that he could be an NBA starter and his fans believe in him as well. Going overseas would be a sign of failure or giving up, he's not at that point yet.

"But it’s unclear if he’s still a starting-caliber point guard, and he’s certainly not the guy I’d pick to throw entry passes for DeMarcus Cousins and stand around Rudy Gay isolations.”

Simple answer , beause NBA is the best league. _________________ "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." --Sarah Cook.
Lin wants to play for a team that fits his style of play. Warriors and Spurs are probably the closest. But Warriors have Curry and Livingston.
So if I'm Lin, I take a one year contract with the Sours at a steep discount and see if I can prove myself. The Spurs are going to need bench leadership this year with Ginobli either retiring or on his way out. Corey Joseph is not experienced enough or a good enough scorer to be their answer
Lin wlll have one year to prove his worth and fit. Next year cap goes up by over $22 million - he will get paid if he works out
The roster, culture, personalities, style of play. The chance to get coached by Popovich.
There has never been a better year than this to go high risk high reward.
Lin has same agent as Tim Duncan - -. Get it done.

Good plan, but Lin hardly do it. _________________ "Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." --Sarah Cook.

If Lin would get bank over there, maybe Lebron should go to China now -- imagine the bank he'd get.
(don't know much about Koufos, but after Tim MacMahon tweet about Mavericks possibly going after Kostas Koufos or salary dump for Roy Hibbert if they don't get DeAndre Jordan, did a quick You Tube search and initial impression is that Koufos might be a bit like Ed Davis, though Ed is more mobile, while Koufos is a legitimate bulky center. Ed Davis to me kind of rolls to the rim kind of like how Gortat rolled to rim with Nash).
Quote:
"Jeremy Lin has shown in his career that he's very effective in the pick-and-roll no matter who he's with," Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "He penetrates well, he can make midrange shots and he sets up shots for other people.
For him, it all starts at the point of attack.
If he can create an advantage, he causes problems."
