I put a face to the thread. I'm amazed how quickly google comes up with photos of random people Devon Staples looks like the everyday average man. Alcohol is a mind altering drug.

I'd bet money that the first reply to his "Look at me!" was a, "Do it, bro!" Bro was used copiously that night, guaranteed.
I'd also bet money said firework was an M80. The scenario as written doesn't sound quite asinine enough.

An M-80 isn't going to blow a guys head off.
It was a mortar - which launches explosive projectiles and has much more force. The force that was supposed to go into launching the projectiles skyward from a stationary placement on solid ground was directed back down through his head and shoulders - thus the brother's description that his deceased brother wasn't there anymore. |
