Dodgers Acquire Wilson Betemit

from Atlanta. Traded Danys Baez and Willie Aybar. I think its a good deal, Betemit is an absolute beast up close, and people in ATL raved about him. Hes young, and has potential to be a big time hitter. Baez was awful this year and Aybar was promising, but for the value of Betemit its a great trade. I heard the Yankees were also interested in him.

Too early to tell if the Dodgers are buyers or sellers, but this is a great move IMO

I grabbed Betemit up, in a couple of my fantasy leagues, and the rascal went stone cold!!... It may have been due to his prior knowledge, of the trade??... I hope he heats the Deadbeat Dodgers!!

He is also actually 24 not 26 as listed so even better! Braves signed him when he was 14 and lied that he was 16.

Also there has been rumors that Dodgers have one of the better packages to offer for Miguel Tejada.

My friend who is a big Braves nut and lives in GA is very upset about this deal. He says the Braves got royally taken by the Dodgers. Of course, Aybar DID go 4 for 6 in his first Braves game...

We finally get a houshold name but an over-the-hiller for sure in Mad Dog.

Let's hope we can aquire some real talent and power in the offseason ala Berkman, Soriano, Dunn.

Anybody have a scouting report for Betemet? I don't know much about him but most of the people I talk to say he's pretty good. I personally am not that broken up about losing Aybar or Baez.

He's looking excellent so far. He's got a very good glove to go along with his bat.
