Lol ESPN is still hating on us.
There is no better young talent core in the league than
Randle, Clarkson, Russel
Maybe the only other close is Minny |
How do you say that when two of the three haven't even played an actual NBA game, and the third one has to prove, for the first time mind you, that he can do over 82 games what he did in approximately 30?
Gotta give it some time before making that kind of statement. |

I never liked Nick Young as a player. That said, I am pulling for the guy this year. The Lakers are going to have to live with him. He has skills just doesn't give the effort or maybe doesn't put in the work?
Hopefully last year was a wakeup call, and the signing of Lou Williams will light a fire under Young? |

How can any true Laker fan be anything but optimistic right now? Seriously!
Unless you're one of the delusional people who expect to challenge for a championship each season this team has so many things going for it going into next season. Young core with the highest upside of any core in the league imo. Solid pieces around them with the FA signings. Way better than last years in that department.
The other two things are up big question marks. Kobe and B. Scott. Won't even speculate how they will pan out cause nobody knows what's up with kobes health or how b Scott will do with a much more talented team. And both have a good chance of being gone in a year. |

5 Reasons Why Lakers Fans Should Feel Good About 2015-2016 Season
Quote: | There is still a level of excitement amongst Lakers fans that has been absent in recent years. The purple and gold faithful are slowly recovering from the melancholy of last season, and are ready to support a team that looks almost nothing like the one that limped through 2015-2016.
In other words, welcome back to Lakers Basketball.
With an eye towards sustaining the feel-good vibes radiating through the beleaguered fan base, let’s take a look at the top-five reasons for Lakers fans to be optimistic about the coming season. |

I think for fans that have watched the team for decades (not because they are better fans, just older), it is a little easier to remain balanced because the perspective is simply different. There are highs and lows even for the best franchises, and neither last forever. This is not an effort to champion older fans, but to point out that it is probably more difficult for a fan that started following the team, or became old enough to be a fan during the Kobe era. Sure there was a small window of down years after Shaq, but for the majority of their years (until the last few) the Lakers have been a dominant team.
I get it because I became a fan a few years into Magic's career as I began youth basketball....and the early 90's was like shock therapy. I complained for a few minutes, then self medicated by repeating "Doug Christie can be great" or squint my eyes and pretend Sedale Threatt was Byron! A few of these cycles and you begin to realize how fortunate we are as fans of the Lakers because the team always seems to find its way back. I live in a city that has had a team for about 25 years, and never hung a banner....and they have had a few really good squads in the Finals....and there are many other teams that have not even had that level of success. Heck, the Clippers may be a good team, but they have never hung a banner or even been to the Finals....and if you have a team "in their window", you either hang a banner or you don't.
Complaining and venting is a big part of this boards purpose, but just don't let it cause you to lose too much sleep. History has a a way of repeating itself. Jerry Buss, Jim Buss, or no Buss....the Lakers will find their way back to playing in June in the somewhat near future. |

Lou and Hibbert played well yesterday.
Kobe looked good for a good chunk of the game. |

The negativity after game 1 of 82 is off the charts. People finding any any reason, no matter how non-sensical, to cry like a bunch of 8 year olds.
I'm just happy to see Randle look strong throughout and see a healthy Kobe, two big question marks coming into the season. _________________ Darvin |

Young done well against Kings, him and Williams are almost competing against each other coming off the bench. So far playing together they've done well hopefully it continues. |

I think they turn it around soon. The difference DLO and Young make is very noticeable. Deng has surprisingly found his legs. The defense has started to tighten up a little. Nance has looked great. And Tarik is about to return, which will take a lot of pressure off of the second unit. He opens up a lot of space for JC offensively, and is less of a matchup problem defensively than when we play Randle and Robinson at the five. |

I have a sneaking feeling that if we can get one win we can string some together. Just need to get that first one to settle this down. |

I've given up on the "beating expectations" game. It's too short sided. 1 day you're right. 1 day you're wrong.
It's a volatile, reactionary curve. Based on the rule of: what have you done for me lately?
Really, the best young core is the team that puts together the most winning minutes this season.
Be it us, MIN, PHI, MIL, DEN, etc.. At the end of the year. I'll look at 3-5 man lineups with players below the age of 23 and 25, and their net rating. And that'll be alot more informative than the garbage ESPN peddles most days. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

If there'd be a mass outbreak of temporary 2 month flu for all teams except the lakers we might still make the playoffs _________________ Kobe |

The second half schedule is a lot easier for the team. Their schedule has been horrible with all of the travel, back to back games. Then there are the injuries.
It is all downhill in the second half. The team will be rolling. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |
