1. A relatively healthy team.

2. Kobe playing at at least a semi-efficient level for at least 60 games, no more than 30 minutes per.

3. The team finishes in the top half of the league in defensive efficiency.

4. Scott permits the rooks to play significant minutes.

5. Scott is fired at the conclusion of the season, if not sooner.

In no particular order:

The youngsters earn, get, and show out in meaningful minutes
Kobe has a healthy, productive, and mentoring season
LA increases its wins by double digits
The offense morphs toward more modern sets and actions
The defense is consistent and improved

Clarkson and Russell play like allstars.
Randle stops being an ass and ignoring fans/kids as well.
Hibbert plays great defense.
Byron Scott improves coaching abilities.

Make playoffs.

You might need a name change.

1. Making playoffs and beating the #1 seed. We used to own the Warriors, Mavs, Grizz, etc. Beating up on those teams was part of what made being a Lakers fan so much fun.

2. Russell leads the league in assists and wins ROY.

3. Randle stays healthy.

4. Clarkson dunks on Exum one more time.

5. Hibbert rediscovers his passion for the game and wins DPOY.

2. Russell, Clarkson, and Randle are all starters by the end of the year
3. Kobe plays 25 minutes per game
4. Fight for the 8th seed
5. Hibbert has a season similar to he did when he was an All Star in Indiana

5) Be a Top 10 team in transition - I'm not holding my breath regarding our half court schemes being good on either end of the court, but I think we have some decent potential in transition. Hibbert can start the breaks with him interior defense, Russell & Randle can both rebound and push it in transition, Clarkson can fly up court, and guys like Russell, Williams, & Young can be good spot up shooters in semi-transition. I hope we push the pace as much as possible.

We were actually one of the top teams in transition efficiency last year-
http://stats.nba.com/playtype/#!/transition/?dir=1&PT=team&Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&sort=PPP

The problem was that- 1) we couldn't defend well enough to cause enough live ball changes of possession 2) every time the running game really got going, we made a deliberate effort to slow down the pace.

5a. Buss family truly takes a back seat and Mitch is the architect of the franchise.

5b. The clippers mysteriously disappear from LA and almost simultaneously a new Sonics franchise is born in Seattle.

2. Kobe relatively healthy (60 games)
3. Upward projection/improvement from core young trio
(Randle's jumpshot/Clarkson's control/Russell's decision-making)
4. A pleasant surprise from somewhere else (Nance/A. Brown/Upshaw/trade/etc.)
5. Optimistic 35 wins (floor 25 wins)

1. Player development- I wanna see the kids play ( and fail, which is fine), they need as many opportunities as possible

2. Kobe- Just get through the season healthy.

3. Byron- Can an old dog learn new tricks? The fact his last few campaigns have been worse than disastrous can't sit well with him.

4. .500 record- Specifically, at or around .500

5 City_Dawg newest LG mod- It'll be the shortest mod stint ever since I would just go JD-mode and ban all the idiots-er posters that irritate me

CD 2016!

1). Kobe to accept a future bench role and stay, on the cheap, with the Lakers in a Paul Pierce role beyond this season

2). D'Angelo Russell shows us some of the talent we know he has in him

3). Randle stays healthy and has a great season

4). Clarkson proves he's the real deal

5). Nance and Brown show promise as potential role players for the future

1. Russell in the rookie of the year discussion
2 . Randle looking like the player we hoped he could be by year 2
3. Clarkson being Clarkson (in the good ways)
4 . Hibbert in the discussion for defensive player of the year
5. One of our other rookies being a big surprise like Clarkson was last year.

I stuck by the rules and kept it to five, but if expanded further, I would have added this one. For this rebuild to work, it would quite helpful if Clarkson works out the way I believe most of us hope he does.
