He's a good rebounder but a horrid rim protector.

Justin Anderson blocked him

Anyways I really didn't like what I saw from Tarik today. Tyler was dominant against him today

Probably our undersized backup C.

Hibbert/Black/Upshaw (forget Sacre).

TB doesn't have the size and length to consistently defend 7 footers.

However he does provide effort & hustle which could make him a serviceable back up center.

Summer League was pretty cool. Love the new additions, and the improvement of my dudes from last year. We're going to get there. I have improvements to make myself but it's a process #str8up #LakeShow #BoomBoom

He needs to pick up a mid range J.
The motor, athleticism and iq are there

And he needs to know where the referees draw the line

Nice interview. He's very well spoken

He sees himself as a leader

When a white person speaks well, do post that they are well-spoken, or does your post reveal racism that you think it's noteworthy when a black person speaks well?

You win the Joe Biden articulate award.

uh what?

he does seem like a nice guy and that was a nice interview. he also does seem well spoken too. not sure what the hell that has to w race. plenty of white athletes are not that well spoken or give awkward ass interviews (see mike trout - but boy do i love him). upshaw is also very well spoken as well. krispy porkfat as well and lots of bball players. and lots of bball players are not well spoken or give really bad awkward interviews.

Tarik Black Needs To Have Solid Training Camp With Los Angeles Lakers

Quote:
Black is not a flashy player, but he does all of the little things to help his team win games. He plays hard on every possession, and never backs down from anyone. He challenges every shot, goes after every rebound, and gives his team a toughness despite being slightly undersized. He makes up for his lack of height at the position with strength and desire, as well as decent athleticism and measurable.

Training camp is going to be very competitive & quite interesting

I think alot of Lakers fans put way too much stock in Tarick Black. The Lakers arent going to hit on every later 2nd round pick and undrafted player. Clarkson is the exception not the rule.

If we waived Blaclk today, I bet there is a slim chance someone picks him up, unless it would be for D-league purposes. Only another terrible team would snatch him up imo?

i don't think he will become a star. but he was the 11th or 12th best rookie last year according to votes...

TB is at least serviceable coming off the bench. That's better than some players currently on our team.

Black is a serviceable role player. Good energy and hustle off the bench. Certainly a guy that can contribute this year. Just not for long stretches or against bigger good rebounding line-ups.

I prefer him as a PF instead of Center though. Unless in a small ball type line-up. At this point I think keeping Sacre as a back-up Center is not a bad idea. Especially if Upshaw is not able to earn mpg.

Training camp is going to be fun to see how this sorts out.

With our lack of roster spots left and our need at other positions I can see black being let go. Especially if seraphin decided to come here or if upshaw shows promise in training camp.

Same goes for sacre

He seems to be a good locker room guy. Most likely a coach when his career is over so he will probably stick on the roster because of that alone. Personally I think he would make a good 3rd bigman and a good guy for our starters to practice against. Basically a better sacre.

Tarik has a high offensive rebound percentage, that shouldn't be overlooked.
