First time I remember seeing him was his return as a face at Wrestlemania 5 with Morton Downey Jr and Brother Love.

Austin said it wasn't his fault that his podcast show was canceled.

Watching this HBO Real Sports - Deaths in Wrestling video with Roddy Piper is so sad. Vince fired him after that aired.

Hulk Hogan as we knew him just died too. Bobby Heenan is effectively dead. He got facial cancer, had to have a lot of his face excised a la Roger Ebert.

Awww.... Damn. Sorry to see him go so suddenly.

CSB moment, when I was little (seven years old) and they still did WWF at the Olympic Auditorium, my older brother and I wanted to get autographs from some of the wrestlers.

This was like 84 or 85 at the height of his badassness, and the Olympic is tiny and had one little back entrance that fed to the parking lot.

Eventually after the matches, some wrestlers came out and either signed or just ignored and went their way.

Hot Rod finally came out and immediately an autograph seeker amongst the bunch huddled around the door started throwing 4 letter smack at him, and in a second he was Hot Rod in real life. He yelled and cursed back and took two steps and flinched, and the whole crowd in unison got spooked and ran off. My older brother took off and I tried to as well but slipped on the raunchy old blacktop rocks from various cracks and skinned my knee and then ran off. Swear to God he looked like he was ready to tear into everyone.

That was the last time we tried for autographs at the Olympic and went for collecting wrestling masks instead (like Mil Mascaras) at the vendors outside.

Bye.

Unfortunately, since these wrestling superstars go thru so much physical abuse in their careers, you never knew when they might suddenly drop dead....I remember the Ultimate Warrior just collapsed walking to his car and died right there.

David Lynch was jealous of that scene. One of the best ever. Loved that (bleep)! Lol

Damn Dusty and now Roddy. Loved him. Going to miss him. One of my all time favorites.

Loved Piper's promos/mic work. Some of the best in the business' history. True sports entertainer.

BTW, neither Bret or his bro in law Jim are dead. Jim's having some drug related issues though.
