That job is high stress. Seriously, I would never want to take a job like that.
People say cops are heroes (some), but these guys who take that call take abuse after abuse and almost never get real appreciation. Either way though, this guy clearly didn't belong in that situation (and few do). |

Man only in government jobs. |
If he's not terminated he should not be allowed to sit the 911 dispatcher position.
If he again sits the chair he must have completed a rigorous retraining program. IMHO |
When it comes to these crucial positions I believe is one strike and your out. Peoples lives depend on someone that is calm and can help.
Who knows man if another trained and calm operator would have been on the line maybe something could have been done.
He should have been terminated on the spot. |
Agreed, no way you can trust a person like that. Even the slightest hope to help that person stop the bleeding beng intentionally ended is letting a person die. |
ringfinger disagrees. He needs more information. |
It wouldn't surprise me at all if the rest of the recording warranted that. I'm simply saying the video only showed an excerpt. Doesn't excuse his actions, but that extra info might provide context. Wonder why they didn't include more of the call. | Why would you need to hear more? 911 stays on the line until help arrives. He didn't do his job, a life was lost.
That's not saying if he'd stayed on the line Chavez-Silver would have lived, saying he should have stayed on the line. He got frustrated by foul language and hung up.
I wonder how many others he hung up on? For some reason I don't think this was a isolated event. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I vote for 300 cycles of somatic reconditioning. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts! |

You're either a contrarian or you have trouble interpreting my post.
I said if there was a precedent. Did you miss or ignore that? |
Or he could be a 911 dispatcher himself, Joe. How many (bleep) times do you have to tell him?! _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL
