Let's make the rooks earn their spot by challenging them to take it from the vets. It's not good to just hand them the keys to the castle. Even Kobe had to EARN every second of playing time and these new kids are not Kobe.

Big mistake because Nick Young is awful as a starter and you will see that again very soon.

Nick Young is fine - He's not good enough to carry the team on offense, but he's good enough to start and play his role.

Actually he isn't fine, he does statistically better off the bench than as a starter. Why put a guy in a position that isn't his strength? That is setting yourself up for failure.

Exactly.

It's not about him starting or coming off the bench that makes a difference. Rather, he can't be asked to be the primary or secondary playmaker because when the other team focuses on him, he suffers.

Lou is very good at getting the ball to his teammates in position to score.

I think that Brown will come around quicker than most think. He is a mature player.

Agree he's the type of guy who knows his role. That's what I like about giving rookies early minutes is because they're hungry. He graduated from Stanford so he's smart, top 5 shooter in the draft, and has length.

He will be a solid player. I say give him 15-18 min opening night

He's 22 and played all 4 years in college I believe?

sure but instead of having 2 gunners come from bench I prefer 1 to start @3 if he plays defense to the coach's excepted standards.

starting him is better then starting a 2nd round rookie

I'm wondering how Nance and Kelly would do alongside one another as their respective skill-sets would complement well.

Not real wild for this pairing. If they're the Lakers forwards, I'm not fond of the pairing in terms of guarding the opposing big wing on the perimeter if he's good shooter type. Will have to see how mobile and quick laterally each can be, and how quickly each gets back out to the open perimeter jump-shooter after switching on ball penetration.
