The probe into Fogle came two months after Russell Taylor, the former director of the pitchman’s foundation, was charged with secretly videotaping naked children — some as young as 9 — in his home bathrooms.
Taylor was found in possession of 500 kiddie-porn photos, bestiality footage and a four GB thumb drive with his “employer listed in the file name,” the Indianapolis Star reported at the time.
It wasn’t clear whether the “employer” name referred to Fogle or his eponymous foundation but TMZ reported that the file contained a folder labeled “Good stuff” with child porn inside.
Reading that makes my skin crawl. Absolutely disgusting.
I do think there is a interesting anthropological debate to be had in terms of the age of consent.
In foreign countries women who are minors are married off to adult men all the time.
Even in the US, the age of consent varies from state to state.
Where is the line?
Is it alright to feel disgusted by citizens of other countries that marry/sleep with minors?
I've always believed in cultural relativism. But I have trouble reconciling that with the aforementioned sexual proclivity. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

$1.4 million in restitution to victims, lawyer fees, wife is divorcing him and he has kids so child support as well. I don't think the dude ever held a real job either as he reportedly became famous while still in school. Even so, what kind of job could a convicted felon and registered sex offender land. I wouldn't be surprised if there were lawsuits from sponsors and families of the victims coming his way.

Since this is the USA, they have to draw the line somewhere....different states have their own laws regarding minors, but I'm sure we don't want to have a country where we prey on young children or sell them off into marriage at 13 like some countries out there.
Much like the Sandusky case, he used a charitable foundation supposedly to help kids and instead used it to get access to minors out there to prey on them...sick person.
I doubt he gets that much time in jail - When he gets out, the guy will still have all his wealth.

After all the lawsuits, he'll most likely end up broke. I really don't see a happy ending for him unless he somehow finds a way to move his money where they can't get it and moves out of the country after his release.
In documents released Wednesday, the plea agreement says Fogle traveled to New York for sex with at least two minors between about 2010 and 2013 at the Plaza Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The victims were 16 and 17 years old. Fogle repeatedly asked one of the minor victims and "several others" to "provide him with access to minors as young as 14 years" for sex. He told one of the victims, "The younger the girl, the better." Fogle said he would "really make it worth her while if she could find one."
He also offered "numerous prostitutes" — apparently adults — with whom he had sex a finder's fee for access to minors he could pay for sex.
Fogle repeatedly made travel plans to have business trips "coincide with his pursuit of commercial sex acts."
Just thinking that this guy was on the CBS Sunday Afternoon NFL games just about every week promoting his footlongs and also he made tons of appearances with NASCAR drivers.....

Age of consent is an interesting conversation as it pertains not just to sexual consent, but legal consent and responsibility for all aspects of life.
IMO, there should be one age that is the age of legal responsibility for one's actions. At that age (16, 18, 21 or whatever age is agreed upon) a person is bestowed the rights and responsibilities of "adulthood". At that age, someone can legally drive a car, buy alcohol, vote, enroll in the Armed Services, be tried as an adult, give sexual consent and anything else that adults are permitted to do.
You are either of the age to make adult decisions and be responsible for your actions or you are not.

Agree completely. These things have been chopped up different ways to suit varying constituencies (the drinking age being an egregious example), but we need to come to a simple point of "these are the things you have to be an adult to do/consent to/be responsible for, and this is that age".
Gonna serve 5 years docked on the plea. No meatball marinara is gonna help Jared on this one. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽

But he'll get extra mayonnaise on top of his footlongs....
Unlike a subway sandwich they'll be 12 inches...

I think his wife is divorcing him to protect their assets I don't buy that she was clueless.
It can't be both? I have a hard time believing she'd raise her children with him knowing his proclivity for child porn. Even if she is divorcing him primarily to protect her assets - as opposed to standing by him in blind faith - it doesn't convince me that she knew about his behavior all along.
The woman who claims she alerted the FBI to Jared Fogle's criminal activities has said she is "relieved" that the former Subway spokesman has agreed to plead guilty.
Rochelle Herman told WWSB that she spent more than four years recording her conversations with Fogle for federal authorities after he allegedly made a concerning comment to her about finding middle school girls "hot."
On Wednesday, Fogle admitted that he had sex with at least two minors and obtained child pornography of 12 other children as young as 6 years old,
Herman says that Fogle felt the need to confide in her about his behavior. "He would tell me the ages he was interested, boy or girl," she told ABC News. "He indicated the fact that he has done it before and told me in gross detail what transpired."
To WWSB, she added: "Jared Fogle is a monster. He's a monster."
And while she's happy that the years-long ordeal is over, she wishes Fogle were facing more prison time. As part of his plea deal, Fogle will be behind bars for anywhere from five to 12 years.

Even if he is sentenced to just five years, Levine said Fogle’s fame will make those years difficult. “Everybody is gonna know that Jared the chomo is here and he’s gonna get his footlong every day,” Levine explained in raw prison parlance.

I agree to a point, but I see a very distinct advantage to having the legal drinking agree to be at least a couple of years after the driving age. The combination of those two not only impact the particular youth involved, but can have profound consequences for innocent victims.

She was married to him for a while and they raided their house it was a big story around here locally when a few months earlier his business partner was busted for the same thing. So yeah I find it very hard to believe she had no idea.
At least she's not dumb enough to stay with him( like Camille Cosby and Sandusky's wife) I'll give her that.

So if your husband's business partner was arrested for being a pedophile, your immediate assumption would be that your husband much be one too?
