Quote:
Dash cam video captures the moment a Minnesota State Trooper catches up to an 8-year-old boy out on a joy ride.

He had made it nearly 20 miles, taking 35 E to a Mounds View neighborhood. The boy eventually turns into a driveway and the trooper pulls up behind him.

At first the boy puts the car in reverse and hits the squad car before parking. The trooper gets out and checks to see what's going on.

The boy eventually gets out of his car, wearing pajamas. He takes out his backpack and a bag with his belongings. Then, his 5-year-old foster sister and her 3-year-old brother also get out of the car. The three of them leave with the trooper, unharmed.

Why do they assume it was "joy ride"? Maybe they should be looking at why he was so eager to leave that foster home and take his brother and sister with him.

Yeah. This just didn't have the feel of a joy ride.

Don't know why the news channel had to play that angle and not report it straight as kids possibly running away from a bad parent and going to someone else's house they knew?

The reason I suspect that is the backpack and the other bag the 8 year old had. Could you imagine that backpack had the little girl's favorite doll or toys and a snack. While the other bag had just clothes an 8 year old thought was useful.

For some reason that's what I just thought seeing the situation.

Bye.

Who knows what was the real reason until they do a follow up.

gumby you and I are in agreement.

This isn't the first time this child's run away

The 8-year-old boy who took a car from his foster family and drove down Twin Cities with his siblings has a history of running away, according to St. Paul Police.
This is the first time he took his siblings with him. CPS has custody of the children

Ramsey County Child Protective Services took custody of the children and placed them in "a safe environment" while they investigate the case, according to a county spokesperson.
I have a feeling something's amiss.

they have video of it in the link.

And I was laughing too until like others mentioned here, it may be an issue of abuse against these kids
