Yahoo Sources: Minnesota progressing on contract buyout with former No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett. He would be free agent if clears waivers.

I bet Jim Buss is excited about this news since he likes to sign lottery pick busts.

I wonder who should've gone #1 in the 2013 draft instead, because Bennett can officially be declared a bust (being waived on a rookie contract)

Oladipo? Nerlens? Antetokounmpo? Gobert?

What is it that scouts even saw in Anthony Bennett that justified picking him #1?

It's still early, but probably Giannis.

Bennett was the favorite of the genius known as Mike Brown.

Many thought Len at the time. Everyone had question marks but he had a lot of upside. Taking him or Oladipo (even with their guards at the time) would have made the most sense at the time. Even those that liked alphabet or Gobert didn't talk about taking him #1.

Anthony Bennett vs Greg Oden. Which is the worse #1 draft pick?

1 is out of the NBA due to injury. The other may be out due to his on court play.

Oden wasn't bad while he played. If healthy, he'd have been a decent starter Center.

The worst #1 I've seen was Olowokandi, but Bennett is a complete bust. That was a weak draft, still he managed to be worse than any other lottery pick.
