65. What happens when a player is released? What are waivers? What is the Stretch provision?
Quote: | A team can claim a player on waivers only if one of the following is true:
The team is far enough under the salary cap to fit the player's entire salary.
The team has a Disabled Player exception for at least the player's salary (see question number 25), and the player is on the last season of his contract.
The team has a trade exception for at least the player's salary (see question number 85).
The player has a minimum salary contract. |
Anthony Bennett -- $5,803,560 |

Thompson was a beast defensively... Larry Bird hated that trade San Antonio did with us for MT. he is in no way the worst #1 pick.
If bennet can someway produce 14ppg 7 boards and 1.5 blocks per game Mitch better sign him |

Leaving out the pre-1970s guys and Bennett, I'd say the worst were:
LaRue Martin
Greg Oden
Michael Olowokandi
Kwame Brown
Ken Benson
Pervis Ellison |

Never nervous Pervis. Just that name alone brings back good memories. He was a beast in college. |

yea, where did this idea that mychal thomspon isn't good come from? i feel that one came out of thin air, or am i not remembering something? wasn't he always a pretty good player on showtime? |

In a do over of that draft, the obvious thing is that Bird goes number 1 (he was picked a year before he actually came out under old rules), but Thompson still probably goes number two. |

Pervis was good when not injured, he averaged 20, 20 and 17 in the NBA in 3 consecutive seasons.
What about Chris Washburn ?
The aforementioned Benson was a role player from day 1, he was so amazing that one hardly hears his name. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------
