I wish he would play but I'am hoping he doesn't take any chance.
I'm ok with his sitting out if it means we might actually see Upshaw on the court!
can't wait.
Agreed, KIROE. Problem is, if Roy can't go tonight, we're likely in for a heavy dose of Sacre, Kelly playing the 5, while Blockbuster has probably already been shopping at the 99 cent store for more crazy glue to keep Upshaw firmly affixed to the bench.

crazy glue
man here's to hoping Roy is really ok, too. he def looks a bit better with the weight off.
I wonderrr what Upshaw's gunna look like tonight!!? Scott better not mess this up. And if i see a Sacre iso I'm gunna die.
I swear this new generation is so FN soft 😂. Running is a part of sports and 2 a days is something these players have been doing since high school. they usually only do conditioning in the first practice. People need to relax. We saw exactly the type of running they did last year in training camp and it's not that bad. Calm down, excercise may effect their jump shots in games but it's not going to injure them.
I'm pretty sure most posters on this board can get through this practice without too much difficulty. (as long as you're somewhat fit). These are professional athletes and it should really be a cake walk.

I think Hibbert will help a lot on rim protection. Not sure about P/R defense though. With Clarkson/Lou/Russell our main 3 guards, P/R defense may still be an issue if Roy plays D like he has in the past.
Main thing with Roy, you get some intimidation, finally. Not since 2012-13 have we had any sort of defensive presence inside, and it's led to us being average/a little good on D to god awful, bottom 2-3 bad the last two seasons. I expect us to be a lot better this season, not elite, but at least average again on D.
I am concerned about defensive boards though. This and P/R defense are the two areas I'll be looking at to see if we can get something out of this team, at first glance they strike me as 2 weaknesses.
scott is a (bleep). 32minutes for your only legit center who has been known to play limited minutes... in preseason. What the hell is wrong with him? We already know what he brings, try something we havent seen. Upshaw, Small line up with nance or randle at C, just give these young guys a chance while preserving our vets.

add all that running with banging agaisnt 7 footers, jumping, and all (bleep) they do and you will have a bunch of injuries. Basketball is a different kind of sport.
His defensive impact is still there. Hibbert allowed the opposition to only shoot 42 percent at the rim against him.
Only three players were better than him in the category: Rudy Gobert, Serge Ibaka, and Andrew Bogut. The three are considered elite defenders.
Hibbert doesn’t need to average 15 points and 10 rebounds, he just needs to do what he does best. The 7-foot-2 center must protect the rim and grab rebounds.

I played football the majority of my life. I don't see it. The lakers have their own doctors and trainers that travel with the team. They wouldn't allow Scott to injure the players.
You train and condition to avoid injuries not the other way around. These practices aren't hard enough to get these over use injuries everyone is complaining about.
Such a good idea playing him the entire 4th quarter.
Bass and Russell's injuries had nothing to do with this obviously but Hibbert seems to be too much wear.
Byron needs to get it together.
Even if the injury isn't directly related, why risk it in a meaningless game? The amount of time he played is absurd.
Do you really think its absurb for a 28 year old to play 32 minutes? If he can't play 32 minutes, if that injures Hibbert, it's better to find that out before the season actually starts.
That's what the preseason is for, finding out what you can do, and finding out what you can't do.
The W/L of preseason games is meaningless, but if they were truly meaningless, then they wouldn't be there to begin with.
Booker was suspended for one game for the altercation in game 2. He will be out for the first game of the regular season. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

He actually had a very good defensive game.
I thought he started well, but just didn't see the same impact and activity. 5 boards (although Randle blatantly stole one from him)... is that his worst in the preseason so far?

Stats vs impact. He was all over the place, and the one thing stats don't cover is how many times guys like DeRozan simply didn't try to go into the lane with him in there.
