The guys seem to be making a cautious effort to take charges this game, the result was a much better defense

Our team sucked again on defense because guys were trying to play defense with their hands instead of their feet. Players like Ryan Kelly, Brandon Bass are not shot blockers, they won't be blocking anybody's shot, same with Jordan Clarkson and Lou Willams so why not inform these guys before every game to move their feet and put their body up to draw charges. That's the only way this team will ever be good defensively

because taking charge requires u to be a step ahead and read the offence. we suck at D so its almost impossible for that to happen

It's the preseason, a time when team defense typically is poor. A lot of players are being subbed out and in. No one's really learned the roles, responsibilities, positioning, defensive calls real well yet. There's little or no player-to-player familiarization so far, no shock there. There's so many new players and a fairly differently defensive plan being developed. I think that taking charges is a product of a good defensive reaction to a threat. It will take some time, and probably only two or three guys on any one team does it well anyway.

He's a keeper no doubt, hopefully he can teach the rest of the guys how to play smart defense
