Awful.
Wasn't even supposed to be a cancer that would lead to this (initial diagnosis).
RIP.

I wonder if the Lakers are planning some kind of tribute since they are playing the Lakers on opening night. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

He must have been much sicker than what the team let on over the summer or had cancer in other parts of his body. The lifespan of a diagnosis of lymphoma is usually far greater than 6 months. |

It was only last December when Flip congratulated Kobe at the Target Center for passing Jordan on the scoring list. Incredibly sad year for basketball. _________________ -Avenue of the Champions- -RIP Dr Buss- #824

That was such a classy move by the Wolves franchise. Flip always came off as a basketball junkie. He loved to teach, and when I think of him I envision him on the sidelines pointing and yelling out directions. You could tell he just loved basketball. Tragic news. RIP, coach. |

From reading an article, he had one treatment left, and then suddenly contracted pneumonia, and ended up being in a coma for 6 weeks. He was being treated at the Mayo Clinic, which is one of, if not the best, hospital in the country, especially for cancer. |

Tough couple weeks for the NBA community. First LO has a major scare now Flip. Really sad, I'll always remember him fondly. Condolences out to his family, friends, and those he touched. |
