If clippers keeps losing we may have a shot at doc rivers
Pass, he's overrated from his time with Thibedau's great defense. Since Thibs left him, Doc has been pretty bad. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest
Luke is not this amazing coach. He got a great group of players who just won a ring together. Heck i bet even Byron's none-coachin can' make them lose
Yep. Just like Mark Jackson lead them to all-time high win streaks two years ago. Piece of cake.
Scott could easily help them lose if he was adamant about running middle school set plays. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

I made the point a few weeks back about the difficulty in objectively judging Luke's coaching ability with their roster. I maintained then, and now, that it's their roster everyone is fawning over, not necessarily the coach.
Doesn't mean I don't want him, or think that he'd be a great coach, but if you ask me what I want, I'd take their roster first, coach second.

Of course, anyone would. But this is the same cast of characters that Mark Jackson led to a 51-31 record last year. Kerr led them to 67-15 and 16-5 in the playoffs, and now they're 16-0 to start the year. These are NOT normal year-to-year progressions. Kerr & his staff have taught the same group of guys to play an absolutely devastating style of basketball.

If this is the case how do you know he's a good or bad coach? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

If you're going to make a case for Becky Hammon then make a basketball argument.
So far, her resume consists of: Former WNBA player, winning coach of 2015 SPL, 1 yr experience as assistant coach on Spurs bench.
She's not even the lead assistant. If there are Spurs assistant coaches we should consider it would be Ettore Messina or Ime Udoka. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

One good coach off the table.
fiendish, who do you want?
Luke or Messina. I'd be good with any viable candidate from the Spurs tree, including Hammon. Atkinson sounds intriguing but I don't know much about him.
I want Thibs he will hold players accountable. He's a defensive genius, offense comes and goes.
and by 30yrs old they will all be ran into the ground
Its a young core they can get heavy minutes. Thibs make bad defenders average defenders. I'm just not sold on Luke like I was with Gentry. Defense travels and thats what this team needs.
So then we can look forward to Russell and Randle being washed up at 26 like Rose? Nice.
rose is only 1 player, out of how many players thibs coached? doesn't seem as detrimental to players health as you and some are making him out to be.
Ok so luke gets no credit even though he's doing something mark jackson couldn't do and as of right now kerr hasn't done (best Start in nba history).
Same dumb argument people use about phil jax that he's not a good coach he just had superior talent, which we all know is absurd.
Exactly. And we have seen first hand how much coaching matters no matter the talent.
Apparently Pop according to the other's logic is a mediocre coach that has only won as long as he had the greatest PF of all time on his side as well as David Robinson, Manu, Parker, Leonard, depth across the stratosphere, etc.
People that still think Luke has nothing to do or any impact with the Warriors being undefeated right now is laughable at this point. As well as being a blind hater.
....oh snap. Luke Walton already has haters! He's moving up in the world now!
I have this waking dread we're going to hire Scott Brooks next season.
As much as we discuss Luke, Atkinson et al as potential head coaches, I fear that our interview list will be comprised of 'exprienced' coaches like the Mike Dunleavys and Scott Brooks of the world.

AS intriguing as Luke is, i really do think our next coach has to have a great developmental background. Byron is uh teaching the kids lots of things, how to play in today's NBA is not one of them. The next cat to helm the big chair needs to "Coach'em up" from the clay they are now into productive NBA players. I don't know if Luke can be that guy, not yet anyway. Keeping a machine humming certainly takes skill, but building a machine from the ground up is a whole 'nother can-o-worms. _________________ *sighs*
I think we should start talking about building Luke's assistant coaching staff. He's going o need a strong support system. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.
