LAL: Lou/Bass
Chi: Snell/Gibson
Chicago gets out of Gibson's deal for 2016-17, and gets a scorer in Lou.
LAL: Lou
Chi: Jennnings
Detroit gets a scorer and really has no need for Jennings with RJax and since Jennings is an expiring.
Any more? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'd settle for just cap-space to be honest. I hope Lou is just going through a slump but he has negative trade value at this point. I'd be happy enough that it might mean more time for Lou, Brown, Nance and Black. Jennings, the contract, works for me but the player will take away even more shots than Lou does. Taj's primary position is PF and we already have an undersized center and two PFs that we're pretty invested in. He's not worth using up this summer's cap-room. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

I am really against the "dump for cap space" idea in general. Not only is it a sell low strategy, but it is also an indicator to free agents that you will just dump them, not rep you want with agents. But more importantly, going into a year with a cap explosion and everyone having room, and you already have two maxes worth of space, what are you going to end up getting with that 7 mil in Lou's contract? My bet is a player who is not as good as Lou.
If you are trading Lou or Bass, better to package them for something you actually want. Cap space doesn't play basketball games. |

Agreed. At least Chicago/Det. are theoretically playoff teams and wouldn't be such a bad considering we are on pace to win 15 games this year. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

My goal is to open a 3rd max-ish slot to make a competitive offer to Batum on day one. But your point about developing a bad rep with would-be free agents is definitely well taken. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

My favorite Lou trade target has long been Koufos. Fills a need going forward and wouldn't impact next year's cap situation.
In something of a complimentary move, I wonder what Houston would give for Black at this point. They need to shake things up and Mr. T would a great fit for what they're lacking. I'd target Dekker. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |
