Brandon Bass was quietly crucial tonight with 10 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 2 blk and a career-high 5 steals.

I could see Tarik finishing with the closing lineup in place of Bass. I could see Bass and Young getting traded to a contender for 2nd or if Mitch waves his magic wand, a 1st. Frees up pt for Tarik and ABrown. Win-win.

All 6 of our young guys should be playing

Clarkson-34-36 MPG
Russell 34-36 MPG
Randle 32-34 MPG
Nance 20-24 MPG
Brown 16-20 MPG
Black 16-20 MPG

That would look something like

Roy-24/Black-20/Nance-4
Randle-32/Nance-16
Kobe-28/Brown-20
Clarkson-24/Lou-24
Russell-36/Clarkson-24

And would be tempted to go small full time and replace Roy with Bass

Hope we get to see some Randle/Tarik or Randle/Nance lineups soon. After ASG, I think Byron will let loose a little.

Na bro.

Minny has the best young talent in the league with Towns/Wiggins/LaVine/Shabazz/Dieng/Ty Jones compared to our young 6 Russell/Randle/Clarkson/Nance/A.Brown/Black

DLO has 'it'; but so does KAT. Lakers have a great core of young talent, but so does Minnesota. LA itself has 'it'; but so did Minneapolis once, long ago, before their team moved to greener pastures in LA. Now when you're 50 miles from nowhere, you're probably near Minnesota. Lakers future looks bright indeed...

It's fun watching our young guys out there. They're pretty fearless. I'd rather lose and watch these guys develop rather than win and have our vets take up most of the minutes.

Anyone watching this Randle interview? We have our own Marshawn Lynch.

Except Marshawn is a legit baller and star. Randle hasn't done jack and is acting like his Sh*t don't stink. Don't like the guys attitude and his game is severely lacking. Dude might be an all-star or out of the league in 5 years. It's a coin toss at this point.

Nah. While I agree that he may never reach his potential, he should have a job for many, many years because he's an excellent rebounder and he create for teammates, too. And it's far more likely that he improves his shot at least a little bit and his finishing at the rim a little bit, as opposed to no improvement whatsoever. Unless he becomes such a malcontent that nobody thinks he's worth the headache, at the very least, he'll be a role player on a squad for quite a while, I'm sure.

Clearly, we're hoping for far more.

Byron , is this so hard??

Just play the rotations like this, with Black instead of Bass and that's it. Its not so complicated.

Also I do not agree with Mitch and his statement about developing kids this year. This is perfect year to develop the. You do not have pressure for result and Kobe is playing with the kids this year. You cannot imagine better teacher for them. And most important he is willing to teach them. Best possible scenario.

I am not afraid about lakers future at all. Just opposite, if we manage to sign some FA next year PO is really close. With another coach of course.

I agree with your 1st part, but I wouldn't say that lavine and wiggins are garbage, but rather a garbage pairing with one another; they don't mesh with one another. I feel our youngsters mesh better with one another. Dangeruss, JC, ant Brown, Tarik, Nance, they all play off of one another. the only odd ball out, that needs to find his way is randle; it seems he sees the other youngsters shining, so he tries to force contribute to put some of the light on him. randle is really good, just needs to find his way in this league and with this team, which I believe he will.

That's the way I see it too.

Bass is a really good backup vet that a contender can use. I would hate to lose him but he was always a 1 year rental as his player option of 3m is not his FMV next year.
