Tried safe mode to no avail. I think I might need a new HD. _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake |

That's a possibility. I would try to salvage the one you have. At least try to get the data off of it before it dies completely. First thing to do is head over to the drive manufacturer's website and see if they have any drive diagnostics tools. That way you can check and see if the drive really is failing.
If it is, get a new drive, get Windows on it, and put your other drive in there too. Then just start copying over all the stuff you need as fast as you can. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

sorry JD, i just couldn't resist.
although with the new mac OS that's coming out, the time machine feature automatically backs up everything on your hard drive so even if it fails...you lose NOTHING. does windows have that?

Seems like a waste of hd space if you even have another hd that will backup as much stuff as you have. I have a big hd full with stuff if I had more space to backup stuff I rather use it to store more stuff. |

the new macpro's can hold 2 terabyte hard drives. should be enough. not sure about the details of time machine since only a preview was shown at WWDC. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

Spin Rite | Ran that on level 4 and it didn't detect any problems. Now I'm really confused. _________________ Lakers Gonna Lake |

I'm with chef, boot the windows CD and try a repair. It sounds like a Windows/software issue to me. |
