Unless we get a major superstar free agent signing(s), we are probably in for a very long rebuilding process.

The problem is fans feel like the rebuilding has already been going on forever, when it's actually just starting.

sell the team to Trump..i bet he would go all out to build a championship team. He's not gonna be anybody's lil bro.

He has a great record with sports franchises....oh wait, he single handedly destroyed not only his football team, but the entire USFL. Maybe we should call him in to save Vegas, oh wait....

Rebuilding has been going on since the CP3 debacle, now we are just doing it without a center piece, so it's just that much worse.

He bought a 6-12 team and turned them into a 14-4 team the next season.

Jim Buss steps down
-Buss finally steps down after another disappointing season. The media/Jeanie/fans are all over him and he finally relents

Phil Jackson comes back as president
-Lakers make a splash for the name. He and Mitch say all the right things about working together and their first order of business:

Hire Luke Walton
-Possibly even bring on David Blatt as an assistant, or steal some of the Warriors guys. Change are system and give us a fresh look for FA's

Get lucky and draft Ben Simmons
-Would be massive to land either one or two this year and grab Simmons or Ingram, would make our future much more brighter

Sign Derozan, Ezeli, Deng, Livingston, Morrow
-Forget about Durant and go for these guys or similar type players. Throw in Harrison Barnes if not Demar, Mahimi if not Ezeli, etc. Just grab some quality this year.

Lineup:
PG-Russell, Livingston
SG-Clarkson, Morrow
SF-Derozan, Deng, Brown
PF-Randle, Simmons, Nance
C- Ezeli, Bass, Black

I love the potential of a Russell, Clarkson, Derozan, Simmons, Randle "finishing 5"

(Hey, that actually is a good idea )
And he'll make Steve Balmer pay for the wall.

We can start drafting Simmons and everything will start to fall in place.

I honestly think this process is going to be slow and it actually needs to be. We need to build through the draft and smart/sensible FA signings. The most important thing is that we keep as much of our young core together as possible. It's rare, but I honestly think that there isn't a bad player amongst DLO, Randle, Nance, and Clarkson. They can really help in the future, even if most of them end up becoming role players.

Also, the Front Office needs to avoid giving out "Joe Johnson" contracts to any free agents. The last thing we need is a max contract for max years given to sub-star level players.

Lastly, something has to be done with the current ownership and the decision making process. There's too much discord between Jeanie and Jim. There needs to be one head. I'm thinking around the 2017-2018 season we will see a surge from our guys. Hopefully, by then we can realistically be fighting for positions 6-8 seed.

I hate Trump but I totally agree man, he would make the Lakers back to its glory days.
