Really damn good.
Not sure if you are a Kanye fan or a Kanye hater, but, I think this album is a good one to shove in the haters face. He's certainly deserved of backlash from his A-hole-ness, but a lot people take that oppurtunity to try to completely dismiss his music. I've enjoyed most Kanye album's, 808s and Yeezus aside. Is he a GENIUS, maybe not, but I think he's been a great artist for most of his albums.
I'm not a Kanye Stan, I was fine with the thought of his music falling off after he presented Yeezus - But I think this album (TLOP), serves as a good reminder as to why cocky people are cocky - they're usually damn good at their jobs.
So.. check it out. It's on TIDAL streaming service exclusively at the moment, but you can get a free trial and download/play it.

Now to describe the album, It's not straight hiphop, not straight sample boom bap, not straight trap music, not straight Yeezus type music --- It's a melting pot of the 3. So, if you're not a fan of any one of those subgenres, he fuses them together to make a melodic sound that is widely palatable.
From front to back, all the songs are great or close to it, imo.

Kanye's "evil genius" image died off for me when I saw that many of his instrumentals are just bought off from other DJs. So his rhymes are weak, and his music isn't his?... After that, I've kind of dismissed him as a no-talent whiner. But I'll give it a listen one day.

I haven't cared to listen to anything after Graduation. I'll wait to see what others think before I check it out.

It's all about musical preference and background. I think if someone liked any rap from a new artist that has come out in say, the last 7 years - they'll like this album. If you don't like this album then you're likely submersed in a whole different culture - somewhere separate from the most prevalent culture for people age 30 and under - and that is hiphop culture, the new pop culture.

That's absolutely fine tho ! Those people enjoy the music that they do - and they're predisposed to thinking that Kanye has no redeeming quality, unlike the huge sect submersed in current pop culture. Just saying..

I do kind of want to rub it in, how this album is the biggest happening right now because of how good it is , legit predominantly because of how good it is. And I only want to rub it in because I don't respect the skewed vantage point that Kanye haters who don't even like his genre(the most popular genre) judge him from.
Funny thing is tho, I am unfamiliar with way too many a past pop icons music's. So I completely understand writing big time musicians off. I never really feel the urge to judge past musicians as people, but if they were in front of the interviewer's microphone more or on social media more, I might -- And berate them with a complete and proud disregard of their talent(because i don't care for their musical genre)

Or ya know, maybe you like hiphop. But each decade is really a new sound, especially with how new of a genre hiphop is, the rate of evolution is really quick and steep. So again, 2016 pop culture is obsessing over how good this album is, but maybe 1995 or 2005 hiphop culture fan doesn't like it. Hell a decade ago was before hiphop culture engulfed pop culture with its fans and the sounds merged - for worse or for better it's a wider audience. *rubbing it in again*

Really I'm not a Kanye Stan , I just kind of enjoy adding perspective on divisive topics, especially one's with genrational gaps!!

Ya it doesn't have a cohesive sound like his best albums have - and that cohesiveness really drives home a vibe - and so did the more inspired lyrics.
But if u aren't going nuts over the first couple tracks - father stretch my hands 1&2 , then idk man. Those tracks are the taste test to what era hip hop fan you are imo.

I don't like it at all. Trying to o hard to be stylish instead of just beats and rhymes.

I'm a liker of old-school hip hop, not this new style-over-substance foolishness, can't stand Kanye anymore.

Maybe because it's that ugly clothing line he has that makes you look like your homeless. I've never been a fan of his. Sure, he had some songs that sound good, but how he proclaims to be one of the best of all time?? HELL NAW!! If Jay Z say that he's one of the best of all- time, I can see that, I get that, but Kanye?? HELL NAW! Then he over the top ego thinking he's truly is one of the best of all time .

I agree it's a very good album especially the 2nd half of the album. I just wish the first half of the album had more verses from Kanye and were longer. FML might be one of his best songs thought, The Weeknd kills it.
