His team lost in double OT and were eliminated.

An NBA player has at least once tapped a shot into the wrong basket at the buzzer to lose the game for his team. Saw it years ago on a bloopers reel on NBA TV back when they used to play a lot of old content to fill time. Don't remember the teams, but it was 1980s. Guy didn't do what this pothead did, though. It was accidentally tapped in while trying to rebound it.

When I was a kid I remember watching Rambis try to get a rebound and accidentally score on the wrong basket.

And more recently, Nance scored on our own basket on Christmas.
