I'm still smiling about that night. One of the best nights of my life, seriously. So great to share it with you. Couldn't have asked for more in any moment than those last three minutes of the game.
I told TA that it is rare when life exceeds expectations. This game blew them away. Amazing. Great write-up, TA. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Thanks for the write up!
That irks me a lot too when people say Kobe scored 60 "because he's Kobe". If you followed him post-achilles, it was a very improbable thing to have happen |

I wish I had been there. Thanks for sharing a perfect ending for mamba.

I stopped posting here in the beginning of the season, I just couldn't take the Kobe trashing any longer.
I paid $1100 to sit center front row of the 300's 4 hours before the game. I bit the bullet, I had to be there. I was at Kobe's MVP trophy game against the Jazz in 08, I was there when he dunked on Yao, I was there for countless epic performances.
Nothing comes close to 4/13. It was the most amazing experince. Thanks for sharing _________________ Maybe you think it's completely innocent. Maybe you don't. But there's no denying that what the rule book says means a lot less than what the NBA wants at any given moment. -Tim Donaghy |

So happy that Tony got to enjoy this one. I was rooting for 40 shots and 40 points and thought it was possible. 50 and 60? No way. Great send off. It makes it extra special as the guys like Tony who supported Kobe through thick and thin (Can't say the same about me) got that chance to see that. It was just so fitting on so many levels. |

Thanks again everyone. Wish I could do that night justice with words, but just cannot. It was unreal.
Yes, LS, all expectations were shattered with that game. And so awesome meeting up with Larry and Eric.
Very cool knowing other LGers were there for the experience, too (55, golaker, and I'm sure many others).

Thanks Wolf! Definitely meant a lot to me, and obviously so many Laker fans. I know how much of a fan you were and how much respect you had for his game, even if we didn't always agree. Sucks that The Black Mamba ain't going to be there to save us anymore, but it's time for the new era. |

PS...you get around to strangling the producers at Fox for ruining what would have been your grand re-entrance to 24? |

Miss you around here man (lol, me to too some extent). Sad I couldn't find a way to join in the fun first hand. |

Thanks Alpha!! Miss you too, man.
I was browsing LG the last couple weeks of the season and I noticed you weren't on much either. Ugh. You were always the mod to look up to! Seems like just yesterday we were shooting the (bleep) about the Kobe/Gasol era.
If and when I make it out to Hawaii I'm definitely going to try and meet up with ya! |

Was thinking the same thing as the season ended, how it's been a year. I still remember where I was when I saw this game. I remember reading this last year and how thankful I was that these thoughts were put to paper. It was a fantastic read then, and even better now missing all that the Mamba brought us. |
