if somebody wants to do a full on tank, Byron's their man. The guy is the reverse of Mike Tyson in his prime... Byron knows the sweet taste of defeat like no man who has ever lived... I find it to be hilarious that Byron had an incentive in his contract to win enough games to guarantee himself another year and everything he did... was the total opposite of what he should have been doing if he wanted to win, yet he remained proud and arrogant until the bitter end... just... EPIC |

That's what I was thinking. You couldn't be a worse coach than BS even if you tried. And the most infuriating thing is the way he acts like he thinks he's a great coach. |

So what advice would he give incoming Lakers coach Luke Walton? “The first thing I would tell him is that you’ve got a bunch of good guys. And you’ve got a bunch of guys that want to do the right thing, they just don’t know how,” Scott said. 6 hours ago – via For The Win

Does he realize just how much worse he's making himself look? I didn't think it was possible, but he's making it happen. |

Byron interview with espn the jump on today @ 12:50P
Recap:
feels blindsided when let go.
thought this was a rebuilding team and had one more year..
wishes Luke the best.
Dlo was told he had to earn time on court thats the way it has always worked.
says crazy talk that he can't coach young players.. mentions chris paul
felt bad for Nick and Dlo mentioned locker room rules..
he is relaxing now and will see what his options are in the future..
nice good/bad lightweight interview. Now we all move on. |

How can you be blindsided when you're one of the worst coaches in recent history? And the only reason you got the job was basically due to purple and gold nepotism. |

He obviously felt "entitled" to the job. He tried to act like his job was secure and Mitch tried to make sure he knew it wasn't. He had to earn his stripes. Mitch had to bring him back down to earth, to let him know that this is not an easy task when you're in the NBA. That's the easy part is getting hired. The hardest part is staying hired, getting better and better and better.
It was just tough love. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Guess it's a Man Up! growth opportunity. He should have known what he needed to improve on. |

Byron's still making his rounds on ESPN and giving them a few more clickbait headlines to put up on Russell's "sense of entitlement". He doesn't realize he's being milked for views... again. In just a few more days, there won't be a dead horse left for sports outlets like ESPN to beat. ESPN will have to go another despicable route to get more ratings. |

Never ceases to amaze me how he can manage to speak with so much pride, as if he's one of the most decorated coaches of all time lol. It's a crying shame when most of your pride and "championship knowledge" goes back to roughly 30 years ago, as a player instead of a coach. Everyone knows he's one of the worst coaches ever except him. Just incredible. Even the Kings know better than to reach out to him. He'll never coach in the NBA again. The sooner he realizes that, the better for him and whatever he decides to do with his life next. There's a lot of former players who went on to be coaches, but not all former players should be coaches. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. That's exactly why you were fired, Byron. |
If that's all he said I don't think that's a big deal. He might even be right who knows. |

Dude can't stop going to the media. There's a play by play of how he got fired here: http://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-byron-scott-lakers-firing-20160511-story.html
"I didn't really think nothing of the meeting," Scott recalled on Tuesday. "Obviously when I was driving over there, I started thinking, 'Meeting on a Sunday at 7 o'clock. What's going on?' But in my mind, getting fired was the last thing on my mind. But it was like, 'Naw. From our conversations, I'm sure I'm going to get another year.'

I'm surprised they didn't have to drag Byron out of the building kicking and screaming. This guy really thought the coaching job would be his until he didn't want it anymore, regardless of the outcome. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. Turns out Byron is actually more clueless than imagined. He claims he was blindsided by being let go after his second season (never mind that both seasons were successively the worst in franchise history) even though he admits it was a 2 - 3 year plan, says if he knew he was going to get fired he would have played the veterans more, and now keeps giving interviews to state his absolute non-case.

Would have played the veterans even more than he already overplayed them? Byron's elevator does not service the top floor. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Kenyon Martin was on Woj's podcast basically saying Byron was inept as the Nets head coach. He almost beat him down too for not "manning up" by going to the media instead of handling a beef he had with Martin in the locker room. |
