Mark Tatum: "The number one pick in the NBA draft goes to the Los Angeles Lakers!"
Silly. DLO would have had that taken care of earlier...and it would be Adam Silver making that call. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Oh good lord, we're doing workout videos now. He's a big that shoots an anemic 42% from the field and his "spacing" is 33% from 3. I'd take him in a heartbeat but that's a huge leap from giving up the #1 for him. No, no GM would trade Ingram/Simmons for him. That's just a hot garbage take.
Yup. I would not trade Ingram or Simmons for Porzingis. The #3 I would trade for him though.
Kinda funny there's a lot of doom and gloom for having the 2nd best odds. The fan base of every team in the lottery, even Philly, goes in with doom and gloom. LOL!
Well, 2nd best odds for a Top 3 protected pick isn't such a great place to be. Our highest probability pick is #4. Additionally, the draft appears to literally be two players deep.
Also having to endure the worst season in Laker history only to see the lotto pick go to Philly is pretty demoralizing. And to know that the guy who's decisions put us in that predicament gets to keep his job just bothers me on many levels.

It would be, but hiring Luke has softened that blow for me. Worst case scenario we get our 2017 pick unencumbered. Could be a valuable trade chip (and we get a 2nd round pick this year too). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Which player would fit Walton system better? Simmons or Ingram? I admit I don't follow college basketball. So that's why I'm wondering.
Both have a chance to be great in it. Off-top you'd think Ingram is the better fit for the O because he can shoot. But Simmons could be a playmaking Center in this NBA. Or he can be a playmaking 4 (likely), which is valuable in a modern offense (see:Warriors) , Simmons could also develop into something special defensively, with his footspeed, length, and athleticism.
I think the one thing that stands apart in the GSW offense is Draymond being legit from behind the arc. He draws his defender up.
The analytics won't back him up, and Top 3 is WAY too high, but that's exactly why I like Ellenson so much.
We're probably going to look back on this draft and say Ellenson should've been drafted higher, but stretch 4's are becoming more and more common in the league.

I'd trade the 3rd pick for him. No way would I give up Simmons or Ingram.

So if Philly is announced as #4, we lost the pick correct?
Well, they'll announce the Lakers, not Philly, but if it's 4th, we lose the pick.
We don't talk about such things here !!!
If we lose the pick, I will be thoroughly depressed.
We could use the infusion of talent. Even if it's inconsistent rookie talent, I'll take it. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

If we're gonna take a shooter, I'd rather just go for Hield and not fail to get a pretty damn good one.
imo Murray gonna be a better pro.
Jamal Murray for those wondering
Guys only a freshman and coach calls track record I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a solid NBA player him and dlo backcourt will be set for next 10 years
In Luke's GS offensive system that backcourt would be perfect.
Damn! That kid can shoot the ball better than anybody at his age since...Steph. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Talking about Chandler Parsons in the FA thread got me thinking about Maryland's Jake Layman. 6 foot 9 small forward, shot 40% from three can play defense. if we can get a mid to late second round pick somehow...maybe we should take a look.
