I wish they would not tarnish the purple and gold with anything!!!

However, if it is inevitable, I would hope it would be something like Hawaiian Airlines, Staples, Ritz-Carlton, or Lexus (if they just did an L), but something that already has Laker ties somehow. Pre-season often in HI, Staples is obvious, Ritz because it's a strong brand and it's right up the block from Staples, and Lexus because if it was just an L it would look understated.

If there must be ads, it better be Kobe Inc.

Snub hub is on Philly already. They're the 1sr team. It's not bad tho. It's really small and just replaces the NBA logo. It's still dumb but thank god it's not the WNBA jerseys. I'd stop a watching basketball

No you wouldn't. Thats what people say but almost no one does.

As I said in another post, the worlds most valuable sports team has a logo right smack in the middle of tbeir jerseys.

Real Madrid.

You'd almost never see an ad like that except on closeup shots.

Soccer in general have terrible jerseys because they are covered with advertisements.

I'd like that, problem is Toyota is our official automotive partner.

And in spite of it, you can still have the most valuable sports team on the planet.

True that, but I won't wear a club team jersey because I don't want to be a walking advertisement.

Yeah, a lot of people say things like this, but then I see them wear Nikes instead of unbranded shoes/sandals. Haha.

LOL right, cuz we never see closeup shots during a game or interviews

And these ads will always stay small right? There's no way companies could simply pay more money to get the NBA to approve larger advertisements? They're not that greedy. Everything is fine

Fair enough, but I'd rather wear something like Adidas or Nike than Fly Emirates or Bimbo.

There are logos at the link. Logically one of the above is most likely to see the advertising space on Lakers jerseys. Adidas, Budweiser, Pechanga, and Nike are all obviously not applicable.

Personally, my vote goes to Gatorade. I think it would be the least jarring to see on a Lakers jersey given the brands success in marketing their connection to professional basketball within my psyche.

Isn't there an ad on jerseys where the stub hub one currently sits? I thought the NBA logo was there. Does it bother you?

Me neither.

People say the same thing every time organizations try to do stuff like this and it never really matters.

The sports leagues will try to find a way to maximize revenue with minimal impact to brand equity. There's a method to the madness.

Call me a sellout but I don't really mind teams having little patches for ads on the jerseys. As long it doesn't get to the point where the ad takes more of the jersey than the team name (like in soccer) then meh, let the teams make a few extra bucks.

Don't be purposefully dense ringfinger. An NBA Logo on an NBA jersey should come as no surprise lol.

I'm completely fine with people being angered at ads on jerseys.

Just saying the NBA logo doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone at the moment. So if it says "Spalding" or "Nike" or "Under Armor" I can't see how suddenly it would be this big issue.

Again, this is one of those things that people throw their arms up in the air like the Y2K bug and then when it happens, it's received with a shrug at best.

There's no point in continuing the conversation with you if you're choosing to be obtuse just to play devil's advocate.

Of course no one cares that there is an NBA logo on an NBA jersey. Or a Spalding logo on a Spalding made basketball.

Do you have a problem with a Ford logo on a Ford made car? Of course not. But put a Pepsi logo on the Lakers jersey and don't be surprised when people complain. They're not related at all outside of the financial contracts that pair them together.

If you can't comprehend why that would make people upset I don't know what to tell you.
