-- Because Toronto is good but not a genuine contender.
-- Because most NBA players would much rather be in Los Angeles than Canada.
-- Because he's really under the radar in Toronto, and some people have projected the value of his shoe endorsements would triple if he came to LA.
-- Because he's young enough to put up with a couple of rebuilding years, especially if he envisions himself as the star on the next great Lakers team. |

We will have alot of young talent. But I got to play devil's advocate.
I'm still not expecting a .500 record for us next year. Wolves had back to back ROY's on their roster. And won 29 games this year.
If we draft Simmons, we'll probably have 1 ROY. But no doubt, Luke is a better coach than Sam Mitchell.
Before the lotto, I didn't think we could win 30 games next year. Now, I think 30-35 is do-able. Nowhere near playoffs, and below .500. But an improvement nonetheless. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

We have young guys with massive potential but we don't have lots of talent currently. Free agency will be huge for us to add some real veteran talent to the team. |

Simmons/Ingram, Russell, Randle, & Nance will probably make less combined than Festus Ezeli will make next year. |
The big question is can we get a veteran superstar to sign with the Lakers?
The last few years, we have struck out. Need to change that IF the Lakers want to be a true NBA contender. |

I think there is talent. It seems like Toronto won't be able to compete with Cavs. 2nd game is the most important. (I don't want Cavs to match or beat the 15-1 Lakers of 2000's)
Derozan I'm not sure. When he was drafted I wanted him on the Lakers but...is he really what Luke would want? I'm not sure of his shooting stats but I swore he isn't the best shooter and that's what the team really needs, shooters |
