for all the accolades boston got they are still a LONG way away from a title. lost to the hawks who got EASILY swept by the cavs. not enough offensive firepower on that team and I'm not sure where they're going to find it. Boston has never been a big free agent destination.

Amen; they're overrated .

They're stuck being 1st round fodder. Even if they upgrade their scoring talent a little they'll still be 2nd round pretenders. I can see them going hard after Okafor now, like they supposedly did at the deadline. good luck with that

They have a ton of assets and flexibility to improve. They are still in a better position than the Lakers, though getting #2 helps catch up.

The roster as constructed is first round fodder, but the point is they have room to upgrade without dealing any of the key parts. He's not going to leave after the Thunder's playoffs, but KD paired with Horford would make the Celtics a serious contender, and they could still improve via trades.

do they have any more potential top 2 picks coming through the pipeline? this #3 trade isn't going to be the centerpiece to a trade to get them the star they need.
sure they'll be able to trade and get some decent talent, but I'm inclined to doubt they'll be able to improve to a ECF team.

They have the 2017 pick swap with the Nets in a (supposedly) loaded draft. And the Nets probably have no direct avenue for improvement (they have cap space, but who doesn't?).

You're right, they won't trade into an ECF team. My original point was they also have cap flexibility to sign max guys while also trading for another all star caliber player... but I don't think they'll actually sign someone since KD is staying put (thankfully). So we don't really disagree at the core of things.

They think we have all the luck when they conjured up the poor man's big 3 for wheelchair? Do they even remember 'basketball reasons' and its leaguechanging impact against us?

Still good that they didn't get it. Simmons reaction clip was satisfying.

This was rigged? I still remember their meltdown on the Tim Duncan draft.

so, since everyone's odds of landing in the position that they landed in somehow shows that the lottery is rigged? My Lord...

Let's not act like they are all like that. That's probably a minority.

I was too general in my comment, I should specify it was directed at those who called it rigged.

I hear ya LakerLanny! As much as I enjoy the Lakers, over my job, I will admit, sometimes pissing off and gloating over chowderheads is even more pleasurable!

Lakers won 17 games. They deserved the 2nd pick for that atrocity of a season. Boston?? They have been picking players and failing for 20 years.
Ron Mercer
Troy Bell
Kendrick Brown
Jerome Moiso
Jeff Green
Kelly Olynk
Marcus Smart so far

That's off the top of my head and I may have missed a few. Those guys are all top 20 picks and are trash. Ohhhhh James Young as well. I mean Boston needs to just be happy they got 3rd and some other assets.

Eric Montross was picked 9th by Boson in 1995. Lakers picked Eddie Jones 10th....

you mean the 94 draft.

95 was the immortal Bryant Reeves draft selected by the Vancouver Grizz!
