Phil should sign Roy to play in NY. They play slow ball and his jumper would be good in the triangle.

Clippers can also be a viable option.

Having someone shoot 80% from the FT compared to DJs 39% is big especially if signing Hibbert decreases hack-a-Jordan.

Hibbert would simply take Cole Aldrich's spot as backup center. He wouldn't cut into Deandre's minutes. He'd just be the second unit guy.

Hibbert lost his heart for the game several years ago. Pacers were correct to dump him. He's only still in the game for the money. Don't resign him.

His only spot in the league is on another bad team that needs "veteran" presence. Hopefully NOT the Lakers.

He's too slow to rim protect and an ISO black hole on offense. His game is the least efficient shot in basketball - the mid range J.

I wouldn't be shocked to see him exhibited in the Natural History Museum come this fall.

When I watched Roy Hibbert this year, it almost looked like watching a 50 year old Kevin Willis playing the C position..seriously what the hell?

I remember when we acquired him and he went to TWC talking about protecting the paint for his teammates and being that help defender... Seriously how can someone just embarrasse himself like that? Maybe if we create a playoff roster and we start winning he might start playing motivated, or else I think all that losing might have destroyed his whole energy or maybe he wants to retire from the NBA.

I don't think it was motivation. He's just really that slow.

He played his best basketball against the Miami Heat back in 2013. I wouldn't say its the tempo of the game. I think he peaked a couple of years back. Not everyone can have 10-20 year careers in the NBA. Some guys are out of the league before the age of 30 because they lose their edge, athleticism, or skills. I feel like this is what happened to Hibbert.Sadly, I think a lot of it is psychological as well considering he had a string of scoreless games in the playoffs in 2014 and he never mentally recovered from that.

I'd be happy wit Roy on a vet min-like deal just to be a consistent veteran voice for a younger team. Sort of a Juwan Howard role circa Miami. But despite the horrible year he had there might be a team out there willing to take a chance on him because they have money to burn.

He's done his job. He helped us tank and keep the 2nd pick. He's one of the worst players in the league and has no business being a part of any young team that's looking to improve quickly.

I like Roy Hibbert as a person but he needs to not be on this team moving forward.

Unfortunately Roy has lost the capabilities that made him an all-star center. I think the Lakers need to clean the slate and get rid of the dead wood on the roster. These players need to come together in mind and play, without the trappings of yesteryear like they did with Kobe.

I am sure someone will sign Roy, but if not, add him to the staff to be a guy that the players can confide in. By all accounts he was great at helping the youngsters adjust to the NBA.

If he's ok in a MWP role next year I say resign him. We will need a vet big. But Roy is a prideful guy, I'm sure he will try to go somewhere he can still get PT (wherever that might be)

Retirement sounds right. He was confident as hell before the season and he played awful so I don't see why he should continue playing.

if he accepted a MWP type role I wouldnt mind tbh. If anything Roy is a pretty good teammate who seems to really enjoy being an older figure to the young guys
