Quote: | Varsity Blues Actor Ron Lester Dead After Being Moved to Hospice Care
Ron Lester – famous for his role as Billy Bob in Varsity Blues – has died, his agent Dave Bradley confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. He was 45.
Early Friday, Bradley reported that Lester was in critical condition at a Dallas hospital after suffering liver and kidney failure.
Lester's first got his start in the 1997 Nickelodeon film Good Burger, before going on to star as the lovable football player in 1999's Varsity Blues.
More recently he made an appearance on CSI: NY and had a part in the upcoming film Bomb City which is currently filming.
The last time the actor addressed his health issues was in November, at which time he seemed to be doing better.
"Liver & kidneys are starting to heal, Came close to dying! With out my fiancé (sic) Jennifer Worland, I wouldn't be alive," he wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of the pair exchanging a kiss.
Since his tweet last year, Lester's health had taken a turn for the worst as he was reportedly hospitalized for the past four months, and recently had his breathing tubes removed after being transferred from the ICU to hospice care.
Lester's agent did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. |

Seems like all these unfortunate passings are happening to individuals who have neglected their health in the past and has caught up with them, so many are way too young. |
