New series on TNT that debuted after last night's game.

I thought it was good, I liked it. Anyone else see it and what did you think?

I remember the Australian movie it's based on and thought the previews looked good for the show. Haven't seen it though.

Yeah, they played the first episode a couple of nights ago....check it out, it is a bit of trashy fun.

I saw the last 30-40 minutes and thought it was good ... I like the style and the feel of the show. Some familiar faces.

Animal kingdom the movie was excellent. Ben Mendelsohn was phenomenal. Haven't seen the TV show but hard to top the film imo.

Seen the ads. Can't tell if it looks like a fun watch or just atrociously bad.

Agree about the movie. Great performances all around and the mom was brilliant. There was a creepy sense of dread everywhere. TV episode I saw was not great compared to the movie, but it did seem slightly edgy. I'll pass, but I think movie fans basically have to lower expectations for the series but could still be worth watching for some.

Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast, Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, and Ben Mendelsohn in Animal Kingdom are three of my favorite villains in cinema. All 3 were terrifying. Great acting imo.

Agree with Jackie Weaver being brilliant as well in the movie. One of the greatest mom characters all time has to be Ellen Burstym in Requiem for a Dream. Just an amazing performance. But I digress.

Watched the episode. Jewelry store robberies a way to gangster, weak. A family in Oceanside run by a matriarch. I don't get the attraction.

We've all seen the commercial, but is this show actually showing promise in terms of Nielson ratings or other viewership metrics?
I doubt it lol.

Tough crowd

No love for Ellen Barkin.

I really want to see the movie now, I didn't realize there was one but have now checked into it and it sounds cool.

Honestly, she is 62 (googled her to find that).
It's hard to watch a TV show about a 62 year old female protagonist, unless the story is REALLY REALLY REALLY compelling.

She so much reminds me of Angie Dickerson. When I saw a flash of the commercial I thought it was Angie.

Do yourself a favor and skip the movie trailer...not really on target, too loud. The quiet is the thing in this movie. Setting is big too, apparently Melbourne back then was the Wild West, cops included.

Watched the Australian version .... mixed feelings ... kinda anti-climatic pretty much guessed what would happen at the end.

American TV Version, they're definitely re-written the Baz character.

Kinda enjoying it, sometimes it lags. Pope character is toooo over the top psycho for me. The kid is more tolerable. Ellen Barkin is solid.
