Looks like without him, we don't even get dignified with a meeting by Durant. It was very easy to blame Kobe but the reality seems to be that today's stars want teams that are ready to contend... _________________ "My thirst for domination is fed only by the game. Henry Abbott's working on his annual column detailing how Kobe has destroyed the Lakers franchise as we speak. |

I said this the past couple offseasons when people kept blaming Kobe for our free agency failures.
Said this offseason would put that theory to the test. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

No. To attrace orime free agents, you usually have to have a solid team. We've been down at ground zero collecting draft assets. We now need to move forward to respectability, through growth of those assets and what value we can sign. If we get lucky, great, if not, onward and upward. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Durant was a pipe dream but some ppl here are delusional. A player of his caliber ain't coming to a (bleep) team. |

Henry abbot, tom penn and the rest of ESPN garbage writers are coming up with creative ways of blaming this on Kobe.
It was never kobes problem. Even though ESPN might want people to believe that Kobe was the reason that the lakers couldn't get free agents all these years, but first of all, the lakers had salary cap to sign max players only 3 times during kobes career, and it was all after his injury, and the l,sees were irrelevant, so to blame these on Kobe is ridiculous.
That LMA meeting was a (bleep) joke, I am so glad LMA came out and clear the air on that bs |

The only way it was his fault was that he was taking up 35% of the cap while providing little (if any) positive impact on the court, instead of signing productive players with that money. So the Lakers were terrible.
Evidently their terrible '15-'16 record, to which Kobe and his contract contributed, will be why Durant doesn't even meet with the Lakers.
Take from that what you will. |

Stars want to play with stars. End of story, this new era means young guys playing team oriented bball until one of them emerges the alpha dog. Very likely it will be DLO or Ingram. Just enjoy the process for now. |

ESPN will sure find a way of blaming Kobe. As we speak they're thinking about something.
Or they will just find another whooping boy like Jim or DLO. |
