I won't exhale until I see him back on the bump.

Yeah, there goes the 2nd MVP (would be a first for a pitcher, I think). There goes the 300 K season.

Clayton's been must see TV in our household. Bummer he'll be out a little bit.

Puig's being a little more patient and laying off that slider on the outside of the plate. That's what was killing him. He always chased that damn pitch. He seems to be laying off it a bit more now. Also, he was batting in that what .228 range for a bit? he's up to what .253 now.

That slider off the plate killed us against: Puig Kemp and Hanley. Reason why we went nowhere in the playoffs . Those 3 donks could never and STILL struggle to lay off it. Puig showing signs though.

Boy that Seager kid is pretty good eh?

If Kersh can come back where he left off we should be ok as far as the WC spot is concerned.

This team has a similar feel to that miracle 88' team that hit for sh-t but were timely and came through in the clutch. They also had a surprisingly good pitching staff led by a horse (or should I say bulldog) with an above average pen.

The Dodgers at the halfway point: 44-37. They are on pace for 88 wins and a wild card spot, but they sure don't feel like a playoff team.

I hear ya, man.

But considering we now have 7 starting pitchers on the DL (Kershaw, Ryu, McCarthy, Anderson, Wood, Bolsinger & Stripling), Agone, Turner & Puig haven't really hit their stride with their bats, our catchers our providing literally nothing batting-wise and Baez has given away game after games, we're pretty lucky to be in the position we are in now.

+ I'd rather catch fire in the last month of the season/post-season than the first month like last year.

And hope someone other than Kershaw can at least pitch a decent game. It took great performances from aces Clayton+Zack just to get us to Game 5 last year. This year, our bullpen still sucks. Our offense still sucks.

Because of all the injuries. And yet they are still right in the thick of things. Dodgers are usually a 2nd half baseball team. We have done some amzing runs in the 2nd half and from even deeper in the hole.

There is nothing to worry about yet. The averages are coming up from the players. The Pitchers will be back. If you really think about it. The 2nd half looks good.

Great start for Norris. Not sure why Dave pulled him at 85 pitches.

Actually, by the numbers, we have a top 5 bullpen in baseball. Doesn't feel like it sometimes, but we do.

So, can we give some credit to Blanton? Dude is lights out this year in the 'pen. Guy has definitely reinvented himself as a reliever.

once they took away stressful situations from Baez, Hatcher and JP they have stepped it up big time.

to give him that confidence. Remember this is his first game with the Dodgers. Pen has been lights out for the most part lately. It was a good move.

I guess it's mainly because 2 people (Jansen, Liberatore) are shouldering the burden for that bullpen.
