Lebron couldn't win so he moved to Miami to help form his super team. Durant couldn't win so he joined a 73 win team (that he lost to in the playoffs).

I guess OKC didn't have enough talent for him to play with. This is annoying but it makes so much sense for him.

The whole West thing was a lot more complicated than simply choosing Kupchak over West. The issues ran far deeper than going, we really like Mitch, so you can go ahead and leave Jerry . . . in fact, there was no choosing Mitch over West. Mitch was the guy left standing when West resigned.

This would be like LeBron joining GSW after losing the 2015 finals.

Durant came to GSW because he saw it as the easiest path to winning a ring. West had nothing to do with this.

The difference between El BJ going to a suoerteam that came together with his arrival and Durant going a 73 win team with a prior Championship under it's belt is vast. Durant amy get his ring, but he's going to be considered a tagalong. Which is fine, I don't blame the guy one bit. But t's very different.

GSW is a path to winning because of the ground work West has laid at GS.

The Spurs and Cavs complained about us trying to make all-star team. The league tried so hard to prevent us. Now, watch what happens? What a joke!

We didn't even have that many talent on the team like Cavs or Spurs did.

I don't know about nothing but Durant going to a 73 win team to play with Steph, Klay and Green doesn't sound like a tough sell if Durant really values winning a ring (or rings). I'd much rather play with Steph instead of Westbrook.

This almost makes the Mozgov signing less painful. We aren't winning anyway...

The CBA caused this.

Max contracts means the superstars will only go to top teams as money is equal. No point in going to any mid level team if you don't get any more cash. And the diff between home and the new team is minimal.

Also, restricted free agency rules exacerbates it. The player doesn't have much of any eligible movement, until at least 7 years in.

The Lakwrs will not attract diddly, even if they have "a better atmosphere", as it is claimed. The only better atmosphere is a winning one. And thanks to Jimmy etc. we have zilch. People can claim it was Jeanie but it is always about winning. If we go lottery again this year, it is flat out time for a change.

None of which had anything to do with the Lakers choosing Mitch over West.

no one was complaining about mitch when he pulled the gasol deal

also pulled in chris paul but the nba got in the way

that put us behind years. and mitch got us 2 rings after west left, every team goes thru this in the new era, you cant be great every year

If Jerry West was in our front office right now, Keven Durant STILL wouldn't be giving the Lakers the time of day. We're rebuilding and he went to the team making back-to-back finals appearances. I guarantee you that last part was more persuasive than WHO he met with.

Arms race
KD to GS

Now Cavs need to work out an acceptable salary for both LeBron and Dwade

OKC should offer max to Barnes

Spurs should pay up for Pau

Lakers should re-sign Huertas

Or do we scrap the plan and go after Barnes now? (dump Lou and Nick)

What a hypocrite.

Pretty much everyone who bashed superteams has proved to be a hypocrite about it.

The players who didn't jump to great teams either already had great teams or they regret never having/taking the opportunity. Who was ever mad about how much help Magic had? Who wanted him to challenge himself on a bad team?
