If there was a redraft Randle would probably go #3 or 4 so picking him at 7 was a great move. Clarkson would have been a top 7 pick at least. To me that is a A+ draft
Russell, Nance and Brown is a solid A. It's hard to be too hard on picking Brown in the 2nd round. A little too early to tell if he comes around with his offense.
BI and Zubac seems like and A+ as Zubac will probably show up in a redraft as a Lottery pick.
Mitch has done a great job of drafting. I also give them credit for Luke an A+ but the coaching staffs between Phil and Lou are an F. Having Phil would have helped up recruit FA. |

And it's pretty funny that the one complaint people have is supposed Julius has t-rex arms. Funny he's the best rebounded of the bunch.
I still have high hopes for Randle. It's unbelievable the potential on this squad. This is way more exciting than Nick, Eddie, Peeler. I think people who want to trade it all away haven't been around the block to truly appreciate what we have right now. |
I feel ya bud. Julius is a jump shot away from being lethal. And if Lavine is the only/main player people would've taken at #7 instead of Julius, then I'd say the Lakers still picked well. It's not like there are clearly 3-4 players that they slept on. And I do believe JC in the 2nd round almost nullifies Lavine as they play similar styles.
BTW...
Man, I loved that team of Eddie, Nick, Cedric, Campbell, and Vlade. Watching them with my grandfather, and listening to the legendary Chick, forged my strong Lakers bond.
Those guys were further along in experience than our team now, many of them entering their primes. But I'm very excited for this 2016-2017 Lakers season. Win or lose, as long as these guys compete on a nightly basis, I'm going to be very happy and dedicated unlike recent seasons. |

The most impressive is the second round draft choices:
Clarkson A+
Nance A
Zubac A+
considering position in the draft great choices. |

DLO: A
Ingram: A (obviously TBD with real NBA play)
JC: A
Zubac: B+
Randle: B
Nance: B
Brown: C+
In all, stellar job IMO by the FO with drafting.
We are now in a position to either grow the team organically and/or have multiple assets that can fetch a superstar level player.
Would prefer to grow them and use FA in 2017 to grab a star. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

2014 A+
Picking Randle at #7 who could potentially be the second best player in the draft is very impressive. Stealing Clarkson at #46 is damn genius.
2015 A
#2 D'Angelo Russell and #27 Larry Nance Jr are great picks, former could be a super offensive guard with defensive potential and the latter could be a defensive beast. AB is a questionable pick though, hope I'm wrong.
2016 A+
Ingram and ZuBLOCKA! Nuff said. Would be an A++ if they manage to get GPII as well though. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

That's absolutely INSANE. Especially when you consider 4 of those picks were in the 25-46 range. Fantastic drafting by our FO. |
This sums up my thoughts quite nicely. Mitch and the scouting department have been absolutely killing it, particularly with their late round picks. |

2014: A- (Randle and Clarkson are solid)
2015: C (Russell is iffy. Anthony Brow is meh.)
2016: A+ (Outstanding draft! Did we just get the two best players in the draft? Could see for the first time ever Ingram as rookie of the year with Zublocka as runner-up!!) _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend! |

When it comes to drafting, I have complete trust in this FO. |
Norman Powell and Josh Richardson spent time in the d-league as well. They just developed a little faster because they are with good programs. I think it's in Brown's capacity to be a Danny Green type of player. Lakers have a different staff this time around so they'll give him a year or two. |

Does Ingram count? Any other team out there passes up on Ingram at no. 2? |

this is the right answer.
we'll know a lot after this season.
that said..
Randle and Clarkson in '14
DLO and Nance JR. in '15 (also anthony brown.. but I don't think he lasts)
Ingram and Ivica in '16
Randle, Dlo and Ingram have huge expectations.. clarkson, nance jr, and Ivica have already surpassed expectations.. great pickups for late 1st round/2nd rounders
so we're doing pretty good. |

You typed the weirdest looking F I've ever seen.
The kid is garbage. Time for our FO to cut bait and move on.
Not sure fans/media members of other teams would give DLO an A. But since he's our pick. I give him an A. Same for Randle. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I mean think of the following recent disastrous busts:
Anthony Bennett (#1)
Thomas Robinson (#5)
Derrick Williams (#2)
Wes Johnson (#4)
Hasheem Thabeet (#2)
Michael Beasley (#2)
OJ Mayo (#3)
Greg Oden (#1)
This is why I chuckle when people think DLO or Randle are "busts." Please. Look at that list above. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
