Just binge watched this over the weekend. I really enjoyed it. It is a sci-fi/horror taking place in a small town in the 80's. I don't want to say too much about what it is similar to, but its like a crossbreed of a Stephen King movie, a horror film, and a kids adventure film. The story is centered around a young boy that goes missing. Two well/better known actors: the mother is played by Winona Ryder, and the Chief of police played by David Harbour. And Millie Bobby Brown, a great young child actor.

TRAILER

Anybody catch this yet?

I think I read this thread at 8pm and by almost midnight I'm done watching 6 episodes. It's pretty fun. Kinda like a scary g00nies.

I'll get to it this week. Saw the trailer a while back and it gave me a Spielberg-y, E.T. / Close Encounters kinda vibe.

I heard about this today at work from a coworker. He compared it a little to the goonies. That's where I went limp. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I can't stand that movie. Although, knowing it's still NOT the goonies, makes me kind of want to watch it. He did say it was really good.

My kids really enjoy some of the "classic" 80's movies I've let them watch so far. (Goonies, Jaws, Close Encounters, Poltergeist, Monster Squad, Lost Boys) etc

Is this series something that they can watch with me? Any excessive bad language or nudity in it??

How old is the youngest? No nudity. One sexual scene in the first episode, but not too bad, girl in bra. I wasn't paying attention for cursing but I don't think there was any. Hopefully others can chime in.

I don't think there were any F-bombs. There were some B's here and there.

Thanks guys. Already on Ep. 2. Saw the makeout scene coming a mile away and forwarded thru. LOL. Appreciate the responses. Already hooked. That soundtrack so far is awesome.

And a quick PSA, the actress playing Nancy is 19 years old, in case you were worried she was under 18.

She looks identical to my friend's daughter. I seriously think they are clones. It's seriously kinda scary.

Bro, I thought of Mia Sara when I first saw her. Little doe-eyed cutie.
