Kids are asleep for the night. We got thru 2 episodes tonight. I'm gonna feel a bit guilty, but I think I'm going to skip ahead without 'em. LOL _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

My daughter (11) REALLY likes it so far.
My son (8) likes it, but he isn't used to watching TV series' like this, so he's frustrated that it's moving a bit slow.
It's a bit irritating so far with the older sister and her horn-dog BF. All they seem to do is grope at each other. I remember watching scenes like that with MY parents and feeling awkward. Except my parents would just have me close my eyes if things got too graphic. Luckily I can skip ahead if need be. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

She looks identical to my friend's daughter. I seriously think they are clones. It's seriously kinda scary.
Oh and Legacy, something's wrong with you bro. lol |
Bro, I thought of Mia Sara when I first saw her. Little doe-eyed cutie. |
That's who she reminds me of. I couldn't figure it out through the whole series. |

Why do all the kids have grown people faces? Especially Lucas, he looks like a mix between Chris Rock and Marlo from The Wire. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts! |

I enjoyed it. Series was originally called Montauk because it's loosely based on The Montauk Project. Hawkins Laboratory is based on Brookhaven Laboratory. |

Thanks for the heads up, starting episode 2 now.
First impression is, great. But might end a little Stephen Kingish..I'd watch the series without kids then invite them afterwards? |

Thats not a bad idea. The first 3 episodes has some questionable sexual scenes/talk that I had to forward thru. Other than that its mainly just language and minor (imo) violence. No F bombs though _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

I'm on episode 8 now. Won't spoil anything but it's definitely taken on a Dean Koontz/Stephen King. I'd say it's kid friendly.
Great series. I hope they wrap it up by the last show. I don't think this is they type of story that needs a 2nd season. |

Agreed. We'll see how they handle it. Clearly it ended with an S2 in mind. Great, great S1 tho |

Just finished episode 8. Yeah was a little worried about that but it was well played and by the end of 8 I actually wanted more anyway.
Thanks LG for another Netflix gem I'd never have found otherwise. |

She looks like a younger version of Emmy Rossum from Shameless. I would have taken bets that she was Emmy Rossum's sister or related to her somehow. |

Weirdest TV thing. My family all watched this on separate schedules, sometimes watching different episodes the same time on various devices. Just odd. Anyway I told my wife about the show after I watched the first couple episodes. As soon as I said it's kind of like Super 8, but a series...she was in. Finished it before me. I rematched the first three episode with my 11 year old daughter. She loves it but hides under the covers next to me when there is anything scary or any kissing (so awesome to be a dad sometimes). My 15 year old son got hooked after seeing us watch and binged watched the whole thing somehow before the rest of us.
As soon as I finished had to come on LG to see if there was a thread. LG does not disappoint. |

It's slow moving but it's definitely a TV movement. There's an entire generation that can't leave...found it diffucult to extricate myself from 1983 after series end. I wanted to be a kid again. |

Can't wait. But I'm leaving for Vegas Friday morning tho and won't be back til late Sunday. But I will get to it asap. Hopefully you guys can provide some relatively spoiler -free reviews soon.
I really want to watch the season with my kids again. Last year was the first time we sat through an entire season (albeit 8 episodes) and it was great. Just want to make sure there aren't any sexual scenes again. I think there was one or 2 minor ones last season. I think I get more weirded out about that than my kids do. LOL
So if you guys can be on the look out for that, I'd greatly appreciate it. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |
