Yeah, for sure. That is why I first said it was mostly a difference in presentation rather than saying it was a difference in Policy.
Have you seen the documentary: "Fix it"? It is free on their website. Great take on single payer. |
Thanks, I'll check it out |

The more heavy-handed the Dems react, the more they'll disenfranchise, even radicalize the Bernie supporters. |

Michelle Obama, Cory Booker and Elizabeth Warren are speaking before Bernie tonight. I think they'll calm things down, then when Bernie speaks hopefully his crowd will cheer for him instead of booing for the sake of booing.
Democracy is messy. Our party is not going all-out authoritarian and shutting down all decent like the other party does. Look, it's good to get this out of the way the first night. Then Obama and others will speak later in the week and by the time Hillary speaks on Thursday, there will be excitement and coming together. And then there will be a convention bounce. No time to get queasy, it's way too early for that. I'm looking at you, Jodeke.

Eugene McCarthy, who had won most of the popular vote among the surviving candidates, only received 20-some odd percent of the delegates, which disenfranchised the younger voters. Supposedly this led to many young voters staying home. Last, a third party candidate of conservative Southern Democrats rallied behind George Wallace, splitting their voting base further. That's how Nixon won, with less than 50% of the popular vote.
Creepy, but I hope this isn't a repeat of '68. |
Unfortunately, this is becoming a near exact replay of the 1968 election:

This election is so much dependent on Sanders. He has to 100% support Clinton. Humble himself as a good looser. He has the backing to ask for some of his proposals to be in the platform. He has time to get it done behind closed doors. I expect to hear a concession from Bernie, not a speech that still promotes his cause. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I was just watching MSNBC. They said some of the Bernie supporters in the California delegation are planning to boo Clinton Thursday night. They also said some are going to walk out. They do plan to disrupt her speech. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

By that time they will be drowned out by the supporters who GREATLY outnumber them.
Bernie texted his supporters and asked them not to boo on the floor. Probably too late, but we'll see. A lot can happen between now and Thursday. I don't think a lot of the Sanders people realize that 90% of Bernie's positions were already adopted into the party platform. Bernie and Warren can emphasize that and talk about how the progressives have gained a lot and the way to get the rest of what they want is to work together. |

Well I am starting to wonder now what percentage of Sanders supporters Clinton will need to win the election. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

I think the main issue with Sanders supporters is they feel betrayed and the system was rigged. They feel he should be the nominee. These people are cult like followers of Sanders. That email leak through gas on the fire. Now it's a brush fire and Sanders can't even stop it. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Bernie may have gotten off the train a couple stations back, but the train is still moving towards it's destination. Bernie diehards are losing sight of what is really important for this election: the Supreme Court (swinging it left for generations) and continuing/strengthening the progressive measures put in place by the Obama administration.
HRC won the primaries and the Dems have a solid chance of doing something that hasn't been done since 1988 (same party retaining the White House). We can't let petty bitterness and Republican-influenced hatred of HRC get in the way of this progress.
The progress of the last 8 years will be lost due to some Bernie diehards preference to see the United States burn under Trump because they didn't get their way on everything. Trump will go out of his way to embarrass Obama and will spend more time erasing anything Obama-related and reversing Obama's policies than he will on implementing his own policies.
I get the feeling that some Bernie diehards are looking forward to deploying the typical extreme right wing line of "See, if we only nominated a true conservative this past cycle, we wouldn't have lost to Obama..." Just switch out 'a true conservative' with 'Bernie' and 'Obama' with 'Trump', and we will be hearing this retort a lot from Bernie diehards when the Dems perform their post 2016 election autopsy... |

Not even Bernie can stop what he started. You think Bernie can just call off the dogs and they'll be content? |

I've never witnessed a election with the turmoil this 2016 presidential has. We as a country better get it together. Rome did fall. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Over the past six months, I've said several times that the hardcore Sanders supporters are the mirror image of the hardcore Trump supporters. That comment ticked off some people. Well, take a look.
(Just to be clear, I am NOT saying that ALL Sanders supporters are like that.)
