It was only pre season but it was nice to get a win!

Felt great to finally root for an NFL team in LA. Different feeling than when I would root for the Vikings. I was nervous, anxious, just like I would be with the Doyers, Lakers or Kings. I know it's pre-season but, It was very exciting. Can't wait for the season!

Free market baby...of course theres a metro rail line just a couple of blocks away from the stadium where you only have to pay 1.75 to travel from a metro terminal or stop.

OK. I see why the Rams were high on Goff. Game still moving a little too quick for him but he really showcased the quick release and touch last night. He should have had 10/12 completions instead of 8/12 if Brian Quick had his hands ready.

The Rams look like they'll have good depth at RB. Benny Cunningham had another solid rushing game and Malcolm Brown looked good as well.

Defense still needs a lot of work.

I would confidently bet the "Under" on 7.5 wins, which is their mark in Vegas.

It's on reason it's a shame that the Rams aren't staying at the Coliseum. There's an Expo Line stop right there.

I'm considering taking the metro there for a few games this season. I have ZERO knowledge or experience with public transportation though. I live in the 626, so from what I see on their "map", I would have to take 3 different LINES to get there. Need to figure it out.

The thing about the Expo Line is that you can drive to somewhere where you can park for free and take the train the last stretch. Granted that's less convenient coming from that area, but it is an option.

I was a fan of that Coliseum project where they would've modernized it for an NFL team, but I remember there was a ton of hurdles that couldn't be overcome and eventually the NFL gave the team to Houston because LA couldn't come up with a suitable stadium. Its definitely a more central location than Inglewood. The Coliseum will be somewhat modernized by USC but certainly not to the extent it would've been had it become home of an NFL team.

You could do a facelift to it, but you could never make the Coliseum a 21st century state of the art stadium for an NFL team that's worthy of hosting Super Bowls etc. There was definitely a need to start from scratch elsewhere.

The major downside to the Inglewood plan is that the new Expo/Crenshaw LAX extension is going to run down Florence. The Downtown Inglewood stop will be by LaBrea near Prairie, but still a loooong walk from where the stadium will be.

I agree, though I'm not sure just how much the game is too fast for Goff, as much as it is too fast for the offensive line--who seem to think 2 seconds of protection should be fine--and then there are receivers . . . somewhere . . . but not down field, open, and ready to catch the ball.

This looks very much like last year's offense, that looked like the year before's, that looked like . . .

Brown did look good and that one-handed back shoulder catch was niiicce.

I think a project similar to what was done to the Cal Bears stadium would've worked for the Coliseum. They kept the facade and all the important parts of the stadium and incorporated it to keep its historic landmark status without going all the way like Soldier Field, where it looked like they plopped a brand new modern glass stadium inside the facade.

Not happy the Rams will be sharing a field with USC.
Saturday USC will be tearing up the turf.
Sunday, the pro's will be slipping and sliding with whatever's left of the grass.

Pittsburgh Steelers have the same problem sharing Heinz Field with the Pitt Panthers.

Don't know if that will help or hurt Gurley. Pittsburgh's run game is normally pretty strong. So maybe the loose grass affects the defense trying to make tackles more than the offense. But not sure. Can't wait till Rams move to new stadium.

I agree. Time to shutter the Condom Brands.

It's a non factor IMO. Either you're good or you're not. The 80/90s 49ers had no problem being good playing on a baseball field.

While I concur with kikanga and rwongega on the distaste for sharing a venue with a team that is appropriately named after a prophylactic, I agree with you. =)

You're either going to get the job done or you aren't. Both teams play on the same surface in each game. And if you happen to have less than desirable settings at home, you at least have the advantage of being used to that versus your opponent.

Looking at the 2 schedules it looks like the 2 teams play at home on the same weekend just twice during the year. Oct 9th vs the Bills and Nov 5th versus the Panthers.

It sucks but it will probably not matter for the Rams considering they aren't good enough to be a contender and they also play a home game in England....

Hopefully, that's our 2nd team defense out there right now (I know they were there in the 2nd quarter). I've seen a lot of missed tackles and other mistakes by them.
