The difference in today's era is, Shaq would play more PnR, along the lines of a DeAndre Jordan-style of play. More face up. Less post. Early Shaq had no problem with this. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

This is a good question, for those that like these kinds of questions.
This is really what I want to say...
hakeem could totally get away with the PF label. And if you do that, that automatically makes him the greatest PF to ever play the game.
You have to pick Shaq though as far as big men in general. The only way you would pick hakeem is if you already had the rest of the pieces in place and you specifically knew hakeem's small ball skill set was more valuable than shaq's bruising. And that could easily be true for a lot of teams, so in that sense they are closer.
but not knowing anything else, shaq all day every day.
so back to my original thought: who is better? hakeen or duncan?

imagine young hakeem playing with ginobli and parker. and older championship hakeem with leonard added. or prime hakeem with drob (basically replace sampson with drob). on top of the fact of didn't drob play really well in the olympics? |
