Is Lakers #2 Brandon Bass?

Looks like it will be on last gen systems: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/games/nba-2k17-early-tip-off-edition/130032
But $60 for a roster update of 2k13/2k14 shows just how greedy 2k has become. It might be worth it for 15-20 bucks.
That being said, I believe the 2k series peaked with 2k11, so it's good to have a last gen system handy these days. It's been downhill since then IMO. |
2K's team is lazy and slow but they do get the job done over time. Generally it takes them years to fine-tune a new engine...2K5 for instance I remember being better on Xbox than 2K6 was on the 360.
So judging by that timeline, if 2K11 had the best gameplay (which I generally agree with though I did like dribbling and shooting off dribble more in 2K12), then we should expect greatness out of 2K19. But 2K17 should be pretty damn good because I was a huge fan of 2K9 despite KG being on the cover... |
How are the pc ports on these games? |
I played 2K14-16 on PC and they were all fine. Probably getting 17 on PS4 though. |
Online community is way better on the consoles |
Not sure how it's better on consoles, even though i play mostly on consoles but when i played it on pc it was fine and definitely looks much better. |
I didn't play 2k16 on PC but I did 2K15 and the online community was like night and day compared to PS4. On PC a lot of the time MyPark was empty or just me and 2 other people not able to start a game. The few times I tried MyTeam you could never find a online opponent. Plus the hacking on PC was horrible. You would find deformed giants at MyPark with maxed out stats. I eventually switched to PS4 for NBA 2k15.
Not sure how it was for NBA 2k16 on PC, but I stuck to PS4 instead of getting the PC version this go around. I wish the online was the same as consoles because graphics and load times are obviously better on PC. |
I never play 2K online so that was never really an issue for me. One thing that was an issue was that PC 2K always runs pretty poorly when first released, at least it always did for me. Then usually around November Nvidia would finally release new drivers that got rid of the random FPS drops. |

What pisses me off more about 2K at this point is that the auto generated rookies have barely improved since 2K7. Their procedural generation algorithms need some work, but from reading the blogs of the guy who handles the 2K generated rookies, I don't have much confidence in his ability to do anything to improve the situation.
I also find it lazy on their part that players still don't have unique bodies, just ~8 body types that roughly correspond to some prefabricated type (skinny, muscular, etc). There's a good post on Reddit about that actually. |

So what I've been doing with my NBA 2k16 is doing a fantasy draft where I was able to get younger versions of guys like Magic and 19 year old Kobe. So my team (and this is a really fun run and gun team):
PG: DLO/Dennis Johnson (32 y.o. version)
SG: Kobe (19 y.o. version)/Cooper (31 y.o.)
SF: Magic (27 y.o.)/Ingram
PF: Horry (26 y.o.)/Deng/Rambis
C: Divac (22 y.o.)/Mychal Thompson (32 y.o.)
This team gets pushed around a bit inside but I try to keep it fair (and not override trades ). Had to give up Randle to upgrade from Mutombo (34 y.o.) to Divac. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I'll also mention the Lakers are ranked the 28th best team in the league, the Timberwolves...4th Best Offense, 9th Best Defense, 5th Best Team.
The Lakers ... 28th Best Offense, 26th Best Defense, 28th Best Team...

The disrespect is real, the disrespect is so real they didn't even finish Russell's left arm in his picture
Also D'Angelo freaking Russell...has a C+ three point rating and his rebounding is a D+ He lead all rookies in steals but is a C- defensive rating

What makes it even more idiotic is how Clarkson and Ingram are also B rated 3PT shooters. No disrespect to those two obviously but we all know Clarkson isn't a better 3PT shooter than Russell, and switching Ingram and Russell's 3PT rating would make a lot more sense since Ingram is a rookie.
It's just as if not more ridiculous than Towns's 88 rating.
Edit: Oh Ingram is C- at 3s...wait what!? Lou Will at B tho. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

The 2K Logic
D'Angelo Russell leads rookies in 3 pointers, and steals
Gets a C+ three point rating and a C- defense rating
The truth of the matter is if Russell's 3 point shooting was even a B - and his defense was a C he'd be an 80 or 81 which is where his rating should be if we go by everything they're underrating.

Don't forget there are many different ratings for the 3pointers. He's probably got 80 something on set 3 pointers. |

which would make him higher than Krispy Porky, but no way they would allow that.
I swear next time, they should really hire people that actually pay attention to each team and their players for more accurate ratings. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

Oh don't you miss 17 years ago when game makers could just release a SOLID AND COMPLETE game on launch day that didn't have 700 glitches, and 500 patches needed to work the 'kinks' out after a year of development.... |

Also now I feel slightly better because here is the leaked ratings video for almost every team and Kristops also has an F in 3PT rating.
