Don't the Dodgers make the playoffs? Wouldn't he be calling those games?
Vin made the wise decision to not call the post season because there would be the awkward situation of going into each game wondering whether it would finally be his last.
This way he has a definitive end that can be acknowledged.
I do hope though that if the improbable happens (i.e. WS), we bring Scully to the stadium for each game. Tie up Joe Buck in a closet, I want Scully.
I totally get it, but I'd be surprised if he went that route. And I wouldn't view the Dodgers' chances of making the WS as "improbable". They are right there with elite teams and on a roll.

Wow, did not know that was Vin Scully playing a recording of him singing "Wind Beneath My Wings".
OMG. I thought that was the original version or something.

One of my top 2 all time announcers.
Who's the other one, Jack Buck or Chick Hearn?
Jack Buck and I should have said baseball. Love me some Chick as well, greatest in the NBA. The irony is that it was almost Chick doing Cardinal games instead of Buck. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Vin Scully's most memorable call: Kirk Gibson's 1988 World Series home run to win game 1...
Vin Scully's final call at Dodger Stadium: Charlie Culberson HR to clinch the NL West.
Both were underdogs and unlikely heroes to win a game.

Congratulations to the legendary Vin Scully as he calls his final game for the @Dodgers today at noon. Thank you #VIN, for everything.
Vin Scully's Final Call At Dodger Stadium: Charlie Culberson Walk-Off Home Run Charlie Culberson's walk-off home run to clinch the NL West for the Los Angeles Dodgers goes down in history as Vin Scully's final call at Dodger Stadium.

I haven't sought out a baseball broadcast in years and not really a baseball fan anymore, though it's been in the background sometimes. I'm listening to his last few innings (unless Dodgers score 4 runs), Check that... 6 runs. and it's like nothing's changed. So glad everyone is able to show him appreciation fully, Giants fans too in one of the most beautiful ballparks and areas to me. And they are going nuts for Vin today.
