And find more overseas?

There isn't a place on the world Upshaw could go play basketball that drugs won't be available. If he still has that problem, it will remain his problem no matter where he goes.

Yea... drug problems tend to stick to people for life, as our system does not address them correctly. From that aspect, I do fear the worst for Upshaw overseas, since he has no familial support there. It could end in a downward spiral for him if he isn't careful. He needs some real mentors over there to help him out.

Kind of think Upshaw was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the Lakers last year. Would have benefited extremely from Luke's tutelage. Coby Karl would also have been good for him in the d-league. He needed a coaching staff he could relate to.

I dont even think that would have helped.

I read an interview he did right around the time he got busted. His passive aggressive feeling that it's never really "his fault " stuck out like a sore thumb.

People with that kind of mentality always say the right things but really don't associathethemselves as the problem.

For that reason, I think you was beyond needing a good coaching staff.

I'm a huge follower of MMA and this sentence you typed describes Jon Jones behavior to a T.

Which is a big bummer because I was a big fan of Jon Jones

I read a story recently about that the USADA may have screwed up his drug test, or tainted his sample and it's starting to gain traction or was when last I checked.

If it turns out to be true, then Jones should sue the USADA for costing him his purse.

As far as Upshaw goes, his mentality was an entitled one before he'd earned anything whatsoever. He blocked Kobe's shot in practice once. He felt that meant he should make the team.

He constantly threw shade at the coaching staff in a subtle, passive aggressive way while ending it with that he isn't blaming anyone/not mad. Etc.

It's typical behavior of someone who claims they know they're the problem, but doesn't really think they're the problem, and think the situation is the problem more than their contribution to it.

Can keep you updated.

In one of the first games he was the best scorer of the team, but it took him 15 shots to get 14 points.
His biggest challenge wil be the VTB League. Playing against the top russian clubs. If he lasts that long.

So far, luckily no local news about misbehavior.

I got it from silver screen and roll, although you did break the news on LG first.

Are there highlights of his first games? Or do you just live in Estonia?

I just live in Estonia.

And you can find some highlights near the end of this video.

There's also a pretty meaningless interview with him.

Thanks for sharing. He has the frame and size to be a force in the league. Hope he keeps it up.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play this weekend.

They usually have a full game in replay available as well. Not sure if there are regional restrictions. In that case: https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn/estonia-vpn
or http://proxy.chris-pc.com/free-proxy/free-anonymous-proxy-from-estonia-ee-proxy.html

"Ex Laker", that's amusing. Never made a regular season appearance for them nor took part in a playoff game. Signed for training camp and was cut before the season started.

So I saw him play on Sunday.

And he played like crap.

Did not score, 5 turnovers. And he was guarded by a SF most of the time. He was pushed out of he paint so good that he decided to start shooting threes. Yikes.
He had minor impact on D altering some shots, but he was not intimidating enough. They lost to the underdog they should have won by 20 or 30. Not entirely his fault that they lost, but Upshaw certainly did nothing to lead them to victory either.
If he does not improve his game quickly, I would not be surprised to see him sent off the team.

Thanks for the update. Hopefully it's just growing pains.
