Props for the engineering, but I wasn't interested in the Veyron, and I'm not interested in the Chiron.

What? You don't like a 'sports' car to weigh as much as a Ford Explorer?

Honestly, it's actually why I'm not as interested in a Veyron, Chiron, 918, LaFerrari, etc. At least I know Koenigsegg really focuses on weight reduction. But in terms of driving for purity? BAC Mono.

But what do I know. My latest obsessions are late 60s Porsche 912s and a 1972 911T.

Then the Alfa 4c that almost gave me whiplash when I couldn't believe what I was seeing this morning is likely rolling Viagra to you?

I drove an Alfa 4C for a weekend. It's pretty fun. I was annoyed with the on/off turbo and actually put it on All Weather mode for a linear response. Quick little snot. Just hate the transmission.

My career has basically had me test drive 97% of everything I've seen on the road.

I don't disagree with you on that part.....if there was a car that was the definition of excess thats the Veyron/Chiron...
The mass from the W16 engine must make it handle like a dog. No average person will ever get close to utilizing all that power and the only way to get that fast is if somebody manages to rent an 8 mile circular test track like the Nardo test track in Italy.

Almost my dream car. This will be weird to say, but I think the 964 chassis is too big.

That, with a few subtle mods, is my dream Porsche.

Or, if you want to go extreme, the Head of Bugatti Design's Porsche. All panels made of Kevlar. Bare Bones otherwise.

Or this. Just not green.

I want a car that makes slow feel fast, not make lightspeed come easily.

The car that killed me.

I hear ya. I like the restomod renaissance in recent years, but I can see why some purists are complaining about not staying true to form. It's hard to argue with trying to have it all - the looks of the classic 911, the engine from the 993, the chassis from a 964 all complete with the latest tech and amenities... but then again, you're left with a car that someone else built and you didn't have a hand in personalizing, which should be part of the equation in being a car enthusiast.

Too bad they stuck with the 1.6 liter engine on this thing. I was hoping that since this is a road car and not subject to F1's inane regulations that they would expand that sucker to something like the Ford GT's 3.5 liter motor.

I don't like hybrids. What is the point of having 2 different power trains? It just make the car heavy. The freaking 918 and the NSX are piggy pig porky pie. Either go all electric or stick with a powerful internal combustion engine.

Those Alfa 4C's are beautiful and they are actually reasonable. You can get one for less than a new Corvette. But damn it, outside of those made by the VW group, I hate those dual clutch boxes.

I recently obtained a reliable beater car that has 4 doors so I was thinking of trading in my BOSS 302 for something smaller. The 4C fits the bill and my price range, but damn that transmission. If it had a 6 speed manual, I think I would have done it already.

Now I have to consider another choice, an LS3 powered Miata! That thing has a proper gearbox in it, is very small and has a great power to weight ratio, but $75k for a Miata seems like a bad investment.
