Looks very promising so far. JJ Abrams. Solid cast. Can't wait.

You should probably mention it is not a movie but an HBO series.

Ed Harris has joined the cast as the villain.

This movie was first made in the 70s so a lot of people here haven't seen it. But for the older crowd and sci fi lovers this is great. Strong cast and HBO.

HBO Greenlights 'Westworld' Drama Series

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2014/11/17/westworld-hbo/19188479/

HBO has given the greenlight to a remake of Westworld, Michael Crichton's 1973 sci-fi movie.

The drama pilot, which stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel World and James Marsden, was considered an odds-on favorite for a series order, in part because of its pedigree: Producers include J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar). It will arrive on HBO sometime in 2015.

Not sure what it's about but "scifi", "Crichton", "Nolan" and "Abrams" all together on HBO means I'm excited.

Bruce Willis would be a great Yul Brynner stand in at this point in his career/life.

Absolutely fantastic! Best new show in a LONG time. Hopefully it can keep up the traction. Such a fascinating concept (I'm too young to have seen the original movie).

Watch the film when you get a chance, It's amazing.

There are some differences between this drama and the original movie, which I won't spoil for the viewers. If anything, Westworld is a story that absolutely needed a reboot and I'm glad it got one.

Will do my friend. Noticed that Michael Crichton wrote the original. Unfortunately the book version is just screenplay for the movie. Was really hoping there was an original novel behind everything.

Wasn't aware of that. So I guess the idea of a theme park going out of control didn't start with Jurassic Park. I wonder if, as a kid, he walked around Disneyland imagining Mickey and Goofy going on a murderous rampage.

I enjoyed the first episode, it made a lasting impression on me - and that's probably a good marker. Looking forward to next week's ep.

With Game of Thrones only having 2 seasons left. This will be HBO's new must watch sci-fi show. Really enjoyed the pilot.
