Page 1646 really brings the lulz.

Lord I'm done with this front office. What a joke. I've watched Larry Nance jr. His whole career since he was a freshman and not once did I say "that's an NBA player" He has already tore his knee up. Leave to these guys to take the biggest reach of the draft. Sigh

This is a terrible pick. One of the worst Mitch has made. It's like Puke Walton and Ryan Kelly all over again.

Why are you bumping old threads? Come on, bro.
The uniformed hysterical overreaction some people are having to AB getting cut reminded me of the uninformed hysterical overreactions to Nance getting drafted and to how much people loved the Brown pick.
We could all use less uninformed hysterical overreaction, so I'm hoping that by refreshing people's memories we will get less of it.

It is good entertainment. It's not the misguided opinions as much as the absolute terms in which they were stated. Also the most recent draft thread just doesn't have the same degree of negative BS iirc. I thought overall people were happy with both Ingram and Zubac this time around.

Not to mention there's a high correlation between this kind of response to draft picks or whatever, and screaming about the front office. I still love Russell and think he'll be great for us but Mudiay is going to be extra special.
He's young and can definitely grow, but I think the Lakers passed over him because there are question marks. Mudiay tries to get to the basket with strength. But until he works on his shot, people can just play him like Rondo. To his credit, he's a good passer. Denver got a good player with respect to their draft position.
That's been my only real problem with Russell so far is he has trouble getting to the rim and finishing. We don't neccessarily need him to do that all the time but his struggles opened my eyes a bit.
But Mudiay has the same problem. He often couldn't get past defenders, but forced shots and relied on strength. He doesn't seem to finish at the rim any more consistently than Russell AND that is his game.
Yet he's still averaging 20/10 in the first two games. You're kind of making my point for me, thanks.
I was talking about his games from China. Like I said, I'm not saying he's a bad player, but the stats are more indicative of the context of both players' environments rather than the players's skills.
I know we shouldn't do this too often, but I couldn't help myself. _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.

Excellent point. There are people who are so sure that they are correct even though they have limited data with which to work. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”
@ESPNSteinLine: Draft scuttle: Hearing Porzingis not only in play for Philly at No. 3 but now giving Lakers something to ponder at No. 2. Stock rising fast
I'm not saying he is Darko, but Porzingis is getting Darko like hype now. It needs to stop. The highest Zinger should go is NYK or Orlando at 4 and 5.
The above comment is a perfect summary of all the talk about Porzingis around draft time. Incredibly revisionist to say LAL messed up the draft of a lifetime by not picking him. _________________ Austin Reaves

I really don't understand people who are so definitive and confident in their basketball "knowledge." The thing that gets me is that some of these people are so sure of what they're saying that they start to call for people's heads and jobs. The very first draft I paid attention to and actually watch was Danny Manning #1, the year we got David Rivers. And throughout all these years, one thing is for certain, WE DON'T KNOW SQUAT, and even people paid to do the scouting sometimes don't know squat. Picks are hit or miss and people who are paid to do this job get it wrong all the time. Then again, I guess it make sense. Fans can be definitive in their opinions because they're not paid to scout, there are no consequences or repercussions to their thoughts. Just free shots and convenient amnesia.
